Not being an avid Windows user so I don't say this with much conviction, but I do believe that the Windows repair disk is only good for corrupted/missing OS files - not necessarily for getting rid of a virus. When I get stuck, I tend to turn to the best tech website - How To Geek. And as you still have your Ubuntu live CD, they have a tip to get rid of a Windows virus by using it - Scan a Windows PC for Viruses from a Ubuntu Live CDPerun said:Anyway, is trying a Windows repair worth a shot?
