Everytime I see Kurtwood Smith in another movie or production, I still add "Dumbass" in randomly for him.

And when nice words are being said about a Toyota: "The last time I was that close to a Japanese machine, it was shooting at me!"

By the way, here's a real dumbass:

It's just like I do with Steve Buscemi: everytime he says something in another movie I say "Shut the fuck up Donnie".

I'd love to see Jurtwood Smith in something else.

Star Trek VI! He's the president of the UFP; in Voyager he was the guy changing timelines all the time in the "Year of Hell" episodes.

There are things I *want*, but there are priorities. I am far more likely to wait a few years and get everything cheaper used than to buy new. Aside from new computers, I haven't had a "new" gadget in a long while. Except my iPod Nano, but I won that at work.

Gadgets are just status symbols... you've reached a level of economic security at which you can afford to waste, er... I mean spend, money on luxuries. Anything outside of food, water, shelter IMO is a luxury.

Pretty well. And I have some luxuries I enjoy. It's part of having a job in a rich culture. I could live on bread and grits and water and live in a shack and probably save a lot of money - but I don't, because I enjoy what I have.

Same here. For example, my car is a luxury I enjoy, but my car in itself is not considered that. It is not a BMW or Mercedes... hell, not even a VW Passat... but when it comes down to it, it's a luxury as is my 11 year old computer, DSL internet connection and basic cable...

Nature of Western Economy since after WWII. Here's a video about it:

it essentially breaks down between planned and perceived obsolescence...
A bit like one of the comments made - sometimes it is progress and the example of the move to the LCD monitor from the old CRT is one. But to for a manufacturer to make something that they themselves make obsolete by introducing a newer model within a short space of time is criminal.

exactly. it can be argued that what was once considered a luxury is now a necessity like refrigerators. But to be honest... those are few, many have become "comforts" like Microwaves... But no one has ever really needed a television.

As for the gadgets... technology and fashion are the epitome of perceived obsolescence

Playing Powerslave, then Rime. Not only are they some of the best songs ever written, they are also 2 of the most-fun-to-play-on-guitar songs ever.

I wonder what's for dinner. Mom's making salad for everyone, but I hate salad.

Guess I'm stuck with a piece of bread and whatever I can put on it again.

Did I make a grammer error or something? I can't understand that sentence so I'm assuming it's a joke on me.

Zare, Albie, Wasted, does an IP address range cap out at x.x.x.255? I'm pretty sure it does.

Long story: we're imaging off a FOG server at work, but I have imaged around 3 dozen computers and now can't get computers onto the FOG server via netboot. I'm wondering if our server has been assigning dynamically based on MAC and if I've capped out.
