By the way, I just realized today makes Forostar's 7 year anniversary at Maidenfans.
 
That's what made me think of him.  Felt strange without him here.  So I check when he was here last, and voila... saw that his debut on Maidenfans was seven years ago today.  Definitely an old-timer.

I tried to get into extreme metal a several months ago. Not many bands stuck, that's for sure.
 
Solution .45 for one. Scar symmetry, from the 3 songs I've listened to, are also good. Probably because of Christian.


A little bit if In Flames, still need to listen to a full album. One song by Unexpect which is pretty much the definition of extreme.

Opeth are pretty good. Listened to 2 albums once.
And wintersun are not bad.


That's about it for really extreme stuff. Other than that I really got into Annihilator.
