Do you guys have preference for the North American tour, arenas or amphitheatres?
I prefer amphitheatres.
I prefer smaller venues because the sound is better, but it’s obviously preferable for the band to play at the largest venues they can fill.

I saw Bruce & Adrian at a dive bar in Minneapolis in 1997 and it was just amazing. The sound was great, the crowd was nuts, and everyone was within 10-15 feet of the band. I saw Megadeth in 1990 in a similar situation in Connecticut and it was equally awesome. Bumping things up to a theater, arena, or stadium lets you put on a bigger production, but you lose the intimacy and the sound quality goes down. That’s the price of success, I guess.

I prefer amphitheatres.

Both are about equal for me. Sound is usually shitty at either one, but often better in an arena (depending on your seat). Amphitheaters are usually more spread out and it's easier to enjoy the show cause you don't feel so cramped.

I would love to see Maiden in a theater or large indoor music venue (<5,000 seats), but I hope for their wellbeing that they don't have to play those venues before they retire.

I've done 5 arenas for Maiden and 1 amphitheater. I have no personal preference. For now on I'm just going to apply for FTTB every time so to me it won't really make a difference.

I have definitely decided that my next Maiden show will be in the pit. I must see them at least once from there.

I dislike arenas and Amphitheatres. I guess I’d go with arenas between the two, although the one venue of that size I really want to see Maiden at is red rocks.

Maiden at the Gorge Amphitheater up here in Washington would be quite cool I suppose.

Seeing as I'd have to drive much further for an amphitheater, I'll say Arena, although I think if i can hit 2 shows I'll do it.

I prefer indoor arenas to outdoor amphitheaters. But that's mainly just because I hate the heat, and Maiden usually tour US in the scorching summers.

I've also noticed that when I see them indoors, the sound is somehow a bit better than when it's outside. Obviously there are tons of factors that can go into this, and it could just be a coincidence, but it's another reason why I prefer arena to outside.
