LEGACY OF THE BEAST 2019

I hope you used your eyes at some point.
Like I said earlier, I was sandwiched between the barrier and people and I couldn’t even put my phone in my pocket. Finally managed to snake it in before Fear of the Dark. I filmed a little bit here and there, not too much though.

Tacoma was a great show, was at the very back of the arena. Visually stunning and it was very nice to have a different line of sight than th Vancouver show!

Was at the Vancouver show on Tuesday. Got in line outside at 4. Doors opened at 6, and Maden took the stage around 8:50.

Have seen them on four different tours now, and by far this was the best!!! I was second from the barrier. And got completely crushed. Never been pushed so hard at a concert before. Had to move back about 15 feet after FTGGOG. Just couldn't take it anymore. So many drunk assholes with elbows out pushing forward.

That being said, incredible. This is the best mix I've ever heard at a Maiden show. So much better than the other tours. Night and day, really.

Met some really cool guys in line. Lost them during the show though. Got kicked in the back of the head by a crowd surfer, knocked my glasses off. Thankfully I was pushed so tightly into the guy in front of me, that they didn't fall to the floor.

I don't know how they would ever be able to top this tour.

Security was good. At least the ones at the barrier. Pulling a lady out beside me who couldn't take it anymore, and rushing to grab what looked like an 11-year-old crowd surfing. Top-notch the whole night.

Wish I could see them a second time this tour, but that's not gonna happen.

Honestly, this will probably go down as the best concert experience of my entire life. I don't know how anything will top this.

The incident in question takes place at 3:03 during Sign of the Cross in this video, which isn’t mine. I was near the incident and can verify security was trying to throw the man, who appeared to be an adult, out for trying to bull his way up to the barrier and that people around the guy were pointing at him and complaining. Beyond that, I couldn’t see what happened once security went over the barrier but I saw a security guard with a bloody face due to a forehead injury walk among the crowd while it was still going on.

When Bruce stands at stage right with the cross at about 6:01 in the video, he’s shining the light on the incident still going on with security in the crowd and commenting his disapproval while unmiked.

The concert cameraman may have captured a closer view at the beginning of the incident. After Bruce addressed this between sets, Tacoma Dome security went around the barrier with a sheet of paper taking names of witnesses. I didn’t see enough of the incident to sign up as a witness.

I also noticed there was a lot of pushing and passive aggressive bad behavior in general at the Tacoma show and it was tiring to hold onto your place at the barrier once Maiden started playing. The crush lessened a little following the security incident but was soon back to a full court press shortly thereafter. Waking up today with ringing ears and an aching back but still enjoyed the show.

I don't mean to make light of the incident but Sign of the Cross is fuckin great.

On Maiden's official facebook someone has posted some photos of the Tacoma incident in the comments section. There are a lot of people in dark shirts that say "police" on the back (in big letters), and also a couple of people in pink shirts that say "alcohol enforcement".

What a warrior, that fan. The security took ages to remove him. Minutes and minutes. And you gotta love Bruce with his cross, shining for minutes all the time. He exposed the security's methods and could have a good look himself. It is the most difficult piece of the song, musically, so I don 't know if other band members could take a good look. I thought I saw Steve's head pointing in that direction for a short while as well.

They took ages to remove him because he was aggressive and throwing punches at the security, and I can imagine it's not that easy to remove someone at the front of a metal concert.

Bruce should have kept his mouth shut once again.

It sounds like the fan backstage with head injuries and the agressive adult witnessed by @Addendum were not the same person. The adult, who seems to have been the original troublemaker, was "escorted outside" and then "arrested and booked into Pierce County Jail" according to that article - so not backstage. The kid Bruce referred to may just have got caught in the crossfire.

Anyway, Bruce's point seems to have been that he thought they were too heavy-handed, and maybe he had a point, if people who hadn't been causing problems got caught up in the security response.

Yep, but I think he just saw the punch of the security guard, anyway, I guess there are other ways to block the dude without punch.
Bruce also points with the light of the cross and watched what happens when they caught the guy so…

I’m hearing two sides of the story, so I don’t know what really happened even though I was probably like 20 feet away. Nothing will come of it.

So last night I got to see the show from seats and it was a totally different experience. The crowd participation starts out strong but really does die down at FTGGOG and doesn’t pick up again until Icarus. Other than my dad, I don’t know if anyone else with 50 feet of me either direction was singing the lyrics to Sign or the Cross (which is the best song of the night). It still was an awesome show and a very fun setlist. Can’t wait until the Vegas show!

Edit: Forgot to mention a fight broke out during 2MTM. Barrier also looked very rough last night.
