What Maiden band members consider rare and obscure and what geeky Maiden fans considers rare and obscure are two very different things!!!

When we're talking about rare and obscure it's probably in relation to songs that Maiden forgot they even wrote.

same with Caught Somewhere in Time..... but this hype sounds like it may be the perfect opener. Of course I've been disappointed before (2008-2009 tour)

I can hope. We will know in less than 2 weeks..... whether it was all nonsense hype or true hype.... of course, Bruce's comments are only being looked at as positive. what if the media hye and surprise is The Angel and the Gambler or The Assassin... that would draw media hype and be a surprise but for the wrong reasons or worse, Wrathchild opens the set

As said before, Alexander the Great would. It is now more likely than CSIT, as the Alexander Eddie has been introduced.

yeah but the SIT eddie is also the CSIT eddie.... he's on the stained glass display that's been there since day one of the announcement. Alexander wouldn't be a great opener either but who knows

I think the game characters are largely irrelevant. 'Alexander the Great' is impossible and 'Caught Somewhere in Time' is highly unlikely.

Bruce Dickinson disagrees with your take on what the tour poster represents, as he has said several times that it contains clues to the setlist. ;)
 
I want Bruce to personally fly me out to the show and then I want the band to perform my choice of no less than 5 rare songs (songs performed at least ten years ago and on only two tours maximum). This does not include Alexander the Great, Sun and Steel, and the entire Somewhere In Time album, all of which should already be in the set. ONLY then will the hype be worth it.

Finnaly, someone with realistic expectations!
 
Maybe the Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner will show up. Paula Radcliff used it in a video a few months ago and got pretty massive coverage and brought that song out of the grave

It would be nice to have a chance to hear that song, not just because it's a great song, but mostly because my father wouldn't be able to brag about being on the only show they ever played it.
