Judas Priest

Honestly, if Priest call it quits in the next couple years and one of the guitarists from Maiden ends up calling it a day...Faulkner would be my first choice to replace any of them (including H, The Almighty and Player of Things). He did pay his dues by playing in Steve's daughter's band after all.

Rob didn’t talk in my show this tour either, but we only got the no chorus thing on one song that I can recall. Too bad about the short set.

And Faulkner rocks.

Not that I wish retirement on any of the Maiden guys, but I hope that offer still stands!

Richie is an amazing guitarist and fits Priest very well - I think it is the best guitarist from the new generation and why not to compare him to some of the classic guitarists from the 80's.

Faulkner is a great player but too much of a poser (on stage) for my taste (and that's taking H and Janick into consideration). It spoiled a little the last Priest concertI saw (i.e Hellfest 2018) even if I can understand he does that to compensate the others' relative apathy. That said, he may change his act to suit Maiden and adapt to the other musicians.

I think at this point I'd rather see Maiden just call it quits or stick with two guitarists if any of them were to leave. I like Richie and his contributions since he joined Priest, but I don't want to see Maiden go through that drama.

To me that sounds more like Steve complimenting him rather than giving serious thought to having a different guitar player in Maiden.

This is also true, but who knows. Although, Faulkner is perfect for Priest, but is he will fits Maiden style ?

I’ve seen Faulkner live and he reminded me more of Zakk Wilde, and very impressive. He seems the only guy in Priest that moves around on stage these days, he was really the show. .

But he’s not really my cup of tea for Maiden. Plus they could quickly revert back to two like it nothing happened.

Well, the Maiden sound is more melodic, less heavy - though, The Book Of Souls song has a really heavy riff ! Faulkner is a guitarist from the new generation and he will fit bands where the recent sound on their albums is heavy, and Priest's recent albums are heavy, also Saxon and Accept came to mind.
Example: TRATB is a song full of melody, not so heavy and I have watched a video of Richie playing Prowler and he doesn't play it so well, but then again, I watch him playing the Powerslave solos (before he joined JP) and it was really great. But he already has his own style/feel of playing that is recognizable.

Richie is a great guitarist, but for me the guitarists from the new generation cannot re-create the warm sound of the classic guitarists from the 80's - that's how I understand the things. I dunno, the sound of the guitar in the 80's was so distinctive that always will remain the best decade for the music, in particular heavy metal and rock.

The "Never the Heroes" riff is basically a reworked "Balls to the Wall".

Edit: I just realised I totally misunderstood your post.

To continue my post about Faulkner, Richie has says that the guitarists he look up to are: Dave Murray, Michael Schenker and Zakk Wylde - also, of course, K.K. Downing, Glenn Tipton, Adrian Smith and Blackmore. I definitely can hear these guys in his playing. ;)

Damn.....! I want to have this on DVD!
Great sound and filming.

Brilliant to see and hear Dave Holland drumming. This was a tight rhythm section.
