It's hard to say if we'll get a DVD from the Maiden England tour

I'm guessing they put April 2nd because they need to ship from euro warehouses to ones in the US, just a guess though. I would assume that the one you pre-ordered will be available on the 26th like it says.

By the way, do you go to a independent record store or a chain? A few of the small record stores I go to put the stuff out as soon as they get them, so sometimes up to a week early, but usually the Friday before.

Got ya. That sounds about right to me. I pre-ordered for 1 day shipping so I'll be getting it the next day after it's released (hopefully).

Unfortunately I don't have any independent places close enough to me to go to. They usually require a planned trip and I can't just hop over and check one out so I'd be going to an FYE to get it. I never knew that though about the independent stores. I'll have to keep that in mind.

Ah that sucks, FYE is awesome though. They all closed down out here a few years ago. :( I thought they only existed online now.

I've always liked FYE. There are still a couple around in my area and there have been some I would go to but they ended up closing those stores down. There's even one that carries new vinyl. I think it has a lot to do with the area where the store was located and if it generated enough business or not. The ones that are still open in my area have no signs of shutting down anytime soon which is good. :D

I liked it too when they had them.

I don't think I've been to any major CD store in the past few years that doesn't sell new vinyl. Even target sells some. FYE never had them though, but this was before that became popular again.

Yeah, I've been noticing a lot more places carry new vinyl now. It's odd yet cool at the same time. I prefer getting used vinyl though.

Yea it's cool, but I've only ever bought one. They can get pretty pricey.

Most are reissues anyway, I can find the originals dirt cheap. And as for newer albums, I'm not sure if I'd care to listen to The Final Frontier, for example, on vinyl in the first place.

Exactly and it's more fun to get old vinyl anyway. :D I have a couple new albums on vinyl, including The Final Frontier.... They weren't uber expensive but they weren't cheap either. I don't make a habit of buying too much new.

How does TFF sound? It's my go to album when I talk about new albums being released on vinyl. It just seems so..modern. You know what I mean? I actually want to pick one of those picture discs for a newer release, to see how it compares.

Moon Child: why are you so concerned (I know it's Maiden --but you're going to, in all probability, get your hands on it within the first week of release anyway) about the release date?; especially whatever Amazon (of all organisations) has stated it as --they're notoriously error prone. They've essentially just been bookmarking these releases (on their site) up until now, until the dates firm up. You is obsessed & super keen! :D

Ah, record stores... bloody nothing left. Gone/going (in a bricks & mortar sense) like bookshops...

But are you imagning a tiny wee venue (like with Steve) & being able to stand literally right in front of him? Genuinely, that would be pretty damn cool. I mean, I'm not a bassist --but if I was, getting to stand right in front of Steve would be quite cool. Now, if I could stand right in front of Adrian (or Dave) --that would (from a nerdy musician point of view) be interesting...
