Ok, I was sifting through the mass of classic rock songs on my computer and was playing a bit of everything, Motley Crue, AC/DC, Metallica, Maiden (of course!), Van Halen, even Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac.
Anyways, the playlist I concocted went from Metallica's For Whom The Bell Tolls, Ride The Lightning, Seek And Destroy, and Sad But True to Iron Maiden's Aces High, Brave New World, Fear Of The Dark, and Journeyman.
I got to thinking about it, and both bands are considered heavy metal, and in Metallica's case, there is no doubt why, but to me Maiden just doesn't sound like heavy metal, to me they sound more like synthesized classic rock, which is good cause I prefer Arena Rock to Heavy Metal anyday, is there some firm ground to my thoughts, or am I just crazy?
