Iron Maiden studio album 17 rumours and speculations

Bruce has said in a couple of interviews over the last few days that maiden should not be 'a legacy band playing 30 year old songs' - this would be a strange thing to say if announcing a greatest hits tour was imminent.

I think he meant that they should not only play 30 year songs ... like several reformed bands have done tour after tour ... year after year, decade after decade in some cases

I got an email stating the next Iron Maiden Magazine would be arriving soon. Hopefully it arrives along with a tour announcement. :D

I don't really think they'll do London shows in two consecutive years. Unless they don't do a festival in the UK. Then we might be lucky.

It looks a bit late in the day now, but there's been talk in the past few months of a 'new' festival, possibly at Knebworth, in 2018. Apparently Glasto is taking the year off, which leaves a gap in the UK music festival calendar. I don't like the idea of a bastardised Sonisphere/Glasto hybrid at all, though. Mudload would actually be preferable to that.

What, like, Maiden one night and The Black Eyed Peas (do they still exist?) the next night? Aye, those kind of festivals confuse me. No please.

I've seen that mentioned too, with The Rolling Stones headlining.

Never understood why Maiden don’t organise their own festival, bit like ozzfest.

These days festivals are just utter bullshit, unless it’s just me getting older and grumpier lol. Pay a ridiculous price for a weekend ticket to a festival that has 950 bands spread over 25 stages all playing about 25 mins each until you get to the last two bands on each day where only the headliner ever plays a decent set. Add to that it’s always in a muddy field and all the bands I want to see clash on stage times then festivals can do one.

I would love it if Maiden took the festival idea back to its basic roots. Find a decent field somewhere reasonably centrally located in the U.K. and have one stage, that’s it! Like the good old days of the monsters of rock. Don’t overloads the day with bands and give time in between sets for people to refill their pints lol.

Imagine a one day one stage festival with maiden headlining with Judas Priest and Saxon on the bill. Throw in one of Steve’s kids bands like the raven age to open it and maybe even get the Blaze Bayley band on next then full sets from Saxon Priest and Maiden. Heaven in my eyes!!!

All of Steve's kids' bands, and every other band member's kids' bands. But they'll be lower on the bill than Steve's kids' bands. Bruce wont perform solo. Adrian might do a PRR slot. Di'Anno will be headlining the comedy tent.
