Iron Maiden Picture Game

Correct. There is a line in a Maiden song that pretty much describes what he must have been thinking then.

I knew that's Hannibal's crossing of the Alps even before confirming it with the Google search, but I can't come up with a song name right now. Maybe after I'll sleep on it.

EDIT: Oh, youse already clarified that. Nevermind then

Interesting aside - Alexander the Great did have some war elephants, acquired after the Battle of the Hydaspes which he then used during the Mallian Campaign - the latter seems to be the episode referenced in the last verse of the song, where the army mutinies because they don't want to go any further.

Anyway, back to the game:

Slightly incorrect. The Malli campaign was after the mutiny. It was the first military operation on the return march.
Sorry - it appears I've lumped too many sections together under the same heading. I'm really not an expert in this area of history.

Anyway, the point was, he had elephants :)

I wouldn't have this in mind in such detail if it weren't for the fact that it supports an important point in my dissertation. :)

Well, it is good that you are here because frankly the whole subject looks fiendishly complicated to me! I only found that detail because I was looking up Hannibal, for your clue, and I came across a reference to Alexander in relation to the elephants. So I decided to check it out (but not in enough detail, obviously!) because I thought that, in fairness to @Diesel 11, maybe his suggestion wasn't as generic as it appeared ...

Angel and the Gambler? As this museum is in, erm, Deal?

TBH it wasn't intended to be, I saw an army and I instantly thought of mah boy Alex. :P

No. The fact of this particular time ball being in Deal is not significant but there is a reason I used the Deal time ball rather than the more famous one in Greenwich, for example.

You need to know the location of the time ball (as seen in the picture) and what it does and this combination will point you to a song lyric. This picture may help those not familiar with how time balls work - compare it with the first image:

(Note: This picture is actually a slightly more literal depiction of the song lyric than the original one, but anyone not familiar with time balls will probably still find it helpful to compare both pictures to get the idea. Anyone who already knows about time balls should be able to work it out from either image :))
