Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

The song will be titled...

'IRON LION'... leading to a lawsuit from Bob Marley's estate.

('British Maiden' was dropped for being too provocative)

Some of the new IMFC interview with Nicko has been shared online. Much love and happiness, Nicko.

Nicko will be working for the magazine. Guest Eddie-tor! It means a lot to him. Regular features.

The answered questions (they received tons of questions, will answer them in the following issues):

- he said he might do a blues album with his solo band. Streetwalkers style, back to his roots. It's a good thing he thinks to record in the studio, even though the material will be easier.
- he had big shoes to fill in when he joined the band, and Steve told him to play his own way and style.
- ''Powerslave'' was probably the hardest song for him to play in the studio and live.
- his favorite song to play live is ''Hallowed''. He notes that he plays it faster than the studio version and some fans don't like it.
- he really enjoyed ''Alexander The Great'' live and it was quite the challenge for him to play and do it justice. He called it a highlight of the tour.

Thanks for sharing that. That’s my evening’s reading sorted.

I would not want to open a can of worms, but I am not sure Nicko’s Jim-Davidson-style humour would go down well in the 21st century.
I listened to all 11 of them a few weeks ago, and yeah...it wouldn't fly. I'm sure he's toned down a lot of the...let's say off-color jokes and whatnot over the years, so maybe a podcast or something like that might be worth considering. I don't really see them doing it, though, mainly because they don't really need it. The Maiden ship's pretty much steering itself these days, and doesn't need a whole lot of excessive promotion outside the normal channels to sell tickets.
