I think the game is ending, but the team is working on the animations of the 50th band's anniversary shows next year : each song of the setlist will have a mini-movie introducing it before band starts to play it.

Metallica does intro tapes for a lot of songs these days and while I don't have first-hand experience, the consensus seems to be they grind the show to a halt. And that's just a minute or two of audio, imagine having to also pay attention to visuals rather than just zoning out until the next song starts.
 
Didn't the original SSOASS tour have a video of ice crashing into water with audio of babies crying prior to Infinite Dreams or TETMD or something? Not quite the same thing obviously, made me think of that though.

Sounds kind of curious, but I doubt it. This could work for a full concept album live (or for the LOTB tour), but it will distract the show. The animated intro video for TBOS tour was cool, but I can't see that. Plus with screens they can create and change scenery easily. More like they will use the potential screens (the light show or clips like for Madness now) and Bruce's speeches for short breaks between the songs. With lights it could be effective - or for example moving sand with some sounds (very short) before To Tame A Land. Such stuff.

I think they weren't use big screens to put video at that time. It was done for the Maiden England video. But they used the audio of ice crashing and babies crying just before The Evil that men do. The 2nd song of the set list. There are fantastic videos out there where the stage turned black between Moonchild and the Evil that men do because the crew were revealing the stage they're going to use for the rest of the show. Moonchild stage is covered with curtains with symbols.

New (idk if it's full) interview with Adrian. He talks about the SIT era:

That tour took a lot out of Bruce. It took a lot out of everybody. Bruce had gotten really into fencing. He used to go off and do these tournaments. And when he brought in these songs he’d written, it was all acoustic stuff. Some of it was good, but I guess it wasn’t what everyone else wanted to do.

We were in Jersey, and we were supposed to be rehearsing every day, but we camped there for a month in the hotel and no one did anything. It was just drinking. I used to write with Bruce a lot, but he wasn't around, and I was stuck in Jersey in the winter, and I just started writing. That was when I came up with Wasted Years, Sea Of Madness and Stranger In A Strange Land.

We were also trying new ideas with that album. I always wanted to make an album that sounded really produced - as opposed to kind of live with a little bit of little bit of fairy dust on it.
So the amps we used were transistor amps. Def Leppard used them a little bit as well, everyone got into them, because it was an instant gratification sound. It was like, plug in and whoa! - chorus and distortion and all this stuff. I got Dave into using them as well on that album. And the guitar synth - we got well into that. And that's how I got the idea for Wasted Years - the guitar riff.

I got this Roland guitar synth out of the box from Japan, and when I switched it on it started making this crazy noise - and I just played along to it. It was like a rhythmic thing. So it gave me a song straight away. I had a little four-track demo of it, and it sounded a little bit like U2. You have ideas that you think maybe wouldn't suit the band, so I wasn't even going to play it to Steve, but he heard me playing it in a rehearsal, and he said, ‘That’s good. We should do that.’ Steve’s funny like that. You might think he wouldn’t go for it, but he was like, ‘Let's try it!’ And because Bruce wasn't around, I just dashed off the words as well. So it was written really quickly. But if Steve hadn’t heard it by accident, I would never have played it to him.

I can only imagine what feelings Adrian has towards majority of reunion albums. All of them are pretty much live, and without of any kind of fairy dust on it..

Yeah, Adrian likes polished productions. But some of his side projects have a ''rougher'' sound. Btw, he said he likes SJ's production.
I am certain he hates The Final Frontier.
It's not that different in feel from Smith/Kotzen production.

Adrian came by The Cave for a listen – he thought the tracks sounded good but “a little too much like the band in the studio”. He thought more reverb to make them sound more “majestic” and “epic”. Steve disagreed strongly. Honestly, they are both right.

Translation: Adrian hated it but Steve decides.

Mixed The Man Who Would Be King. Adrian came in and said it all sounded good – and said he was 95% happy with the album mixes and we should look at them and tweak them slightly – I am perfectly happy to reassess any of the mixes, as daunting as the prospect of revisiting everything is, changing sonics etc., but Steve and I are quite happy with it and neither of us can really afford the extra time it would take to remix, so Steve jumped in and basically said we’re going to be done this weekend and we are not remixing the entire album. Adrian ultimately understood but wasn’t thrilled about it!

Translation: Adrian fucking hated it.

Mixed Starblind today. Adrian came by to hear it – and was desirous of more reverb on some things – it’s a little bit of a continuous internal battle, and is essentially just a different way to hear things. Def Leppard on one hand, something garagey on the other. Extra reverb was not added to anything. Adrian left happy and understanding, I thought!!!

Steve's problem
could be solved by outvoting. One condition, other band members must care/to give a damn.
Or... Other five can go berserk and put dear old Steve into Piece of Mind Eddie mode/position :D
