Iron Maiden confirmed on the "Download TV Festival" - June 12-14

It's Download, and it's Friday night Download in particular. A major reason I don't want to go to this festival is the lack of interest in at least 60% of the bands.

The Saturday line-up was particularly good this year. Shame it couldn't go ahead. Normally the line-up doesn't suit my tastes either.

Saturday was okay. Saturday was quite decent at the mud hell year too, which you would have found out if you hadn't been queuing in traffic until about 3pm.

I missed Halestorm because of that! Also Amon Amarth and Delain but we might have arrived too late for them anyway. I saw both bands at their own shows later in the year anyway with good support, so whatever.

If there's one more interview with some music industry non-entity, I'm going to join the Youtube chat crowd in shouting BOOMER every few seconds.

Why are there so many interviews? Surely nobody wants this. Will Download 2021 have people interviewed on stage?

Am I the only one that wishes we had an Iron Maiden equivalent of Airborne? (who are basically an ACDC tribute that don't play any ACDC songs)

I could really go for a band that sound 99% like Maiden to pad out the gap between albums

They're padding out the content because they appear to have very little exclusive footage or band performances

They must have tons though, I recognise your one from Sky Arts so I presume the previous Sky Arts programmes where made in house by Download so they must have all that footage, it's usually like 6 hours worth of footage each year

You'd think so, wouldn't you? Maybe they don't want to just show old live performances and want to mix things up with new material. The interviews aren't great evening show stuff, though. Glad a few bands have done performances from home, though, that's putting a bit of effort into it.
