The past year has seen a massive re-evaluation of SiT and it only seems fair that it should take the top spot when POWERSLAVE is already gone. Give it to the underdog and get SSOASS outta here.

Somewhere In Time is one of the best Metal albums of all time. Can't think of any such record with that same distinctive and unique tone (to some extent possibly Focus, by Cynic and Seventh Son - which is an awesome album!). I find SIT more solid and consistent throughout, with each song sharing the same dynamic in a story-telling way.

I think SiT has the slightly greater highlights, while SSOASS is a tad bit more consistent. With that in mind, SiT deserves to oust SSOASS thanks to Stranger and Alexander.

Adrian’s solo in “Stranger” ALONE is better than anything on SSOASS.
