Incredibly "stupid" commentary on Iron Maiden

I guess it's appropriate, but it just seems like a bunch of people bitching because a musician from a band that is objectively significantly less successful than Iron Maiden said something about his personal opinion of the band.

Yeap And let's not forget Bruce hasn't exactly been a saint either..often slamming other bands and artists. He had a dig at Metallica for example claiming Maiden was better musicians than them...which made the front page of Metal Hammer....

Iron Maiden : "We're Better Than Metallica"

The difference is, Bruce is stating facts.

:ninja:

From our point of view yea maybe..

Imagine a headline saying "Slayer: We're better than Iron Maiden". ...Damn, the Maiden fan base would explode...

Or say if you're into metal but not really into the style of metal Maiden plays and you watch Bruce from the "outside" so to speak..he would also seem like a giant douche, dissing pop and rock bands at Maiden shows etc...

Of course you can, but I'm allowed to state my opinion, am I not?

Well I certainly don't agree with King on this and he is a bit of a douche but I believe he's stated many times in interviews and stuff that he grew up with the Di'anno era Maiden and favors the raw attitude of those albums. That might explain it. Actually an album like Killers seems to be very popular with older Maiden fans in the US.

This is so true.

One of the things that surprised me when I moved back to the states years ago was that so many metal fans here held the Di'anno albums in such high regard. I even remember going to see them during the "Seventh Tour" in LA and hearing several fans next to me bitch that the new stuff was taking up too much space in the set list(!) For many older US fans, Maiden more or less stops at Killers/NOTB (note; not saying all - I'm definitely not one of them! Just what I've observed over the years).

@CriedWhenBrucieLeft I'm seriously starting to get annoyed. Aren't we free to participate in a thread in a constructive way? I find some threads dumb/whatever at times, but you don't see me trying to make fun of them or even trying to stop them.

This is something I would like to tattoo on the inside of the eyelids of certain Play Classics! fans today...

Try not to. It's not like I was cheeky & said you were "a bunch of people bitching"...

Of course. Am I not free to participate in an uncontructive way? :p

Ditto. I find this thread distinctly whatever...
...but you don't see me trying to make fun of them or even trying to stop them.
You're right, I don't. You're perfectly free to though! :ok:

@CriedWhenBrucieLeft You're (a) smart (guy/girl). I usually find your comments to be very smart or, at the very least, funny. I guess yesterday i was just a bit down and i ended up overreacting, and i'm sorry. And yes, your last response with all those quotes actually made me laugh. In a good way ;)

And btw, i'm 99,9% convinced you're actually Buckethead. If so, wepihefwf+iHEUVGEPUICHEOHÇUOauhyvghkjuh :duckie:
