Incredibly "stupid" commentary on Iron Maiden

Don't know how many hours have passed, but my jaw seems to have become a permanent presence on the floor

Well I certainly don't agree with King on this and he is a bit of a douche but I believe he's stated many times in interviews and stuff that he grew up with the Di'anno era Maiden and favors the raw attitude of those albums. That might explain it. Actually an album like Killers seems to be very popular with older Maiden fans in the US.

No, it might not. Okay, personal preference is everybody's thing, you might prefer Di'Anno to Bruce, really, I don't care... but saying they're living off their first three records is just

What part of today Maiden really sounds like the first two albums? (bar the title track on every gig and your occasional Running Free in concert?) Yes, Maiden aren't probably the most earth-shattering "new sound album" band, but still, that statement puts him safely into the "deaf" category.

You have Kerry King in your mouth???
Very, very disturbing thought :puke:

This thread keeps existing & stuff too. Personally, I hold you responsible nuno...
The ongoing existence of this thread, my dear @CriedWhenBrucieLeft , is almost proportional to Kerry's ignorance heights. Not quite there yet, but i firmly believe someday we may actually get there.

He probably doesn't like post-Beast records himself. But lots of Maiden fans and metal fans in general do. What I find odd is that Slayer has performed often with Maiden. Is he willing to end all this, suddenly? In other words, does he realize what he's saying? Usually you'd expect more respect for fellow metal acts. Not sure if his public nonsense matters anything, but it isn't that unlikely that Slayer won't be asked to do anything with Maiden anymore.
I think Kerry even appeared on Flight 666

Good for Kerry King, I'm glad he has an opinion.
Sure, but one thing is to personally dislike a band's catalogue from a certain point on (that's relative), a whole different thing is to say a band that clearly plays A LOT of new material, draws huge crowds on every single show where those same new songs are played and, let's not forget, consistently sells new albums and gets them high chart-wise pretty much all over the world (these are undeniable facts) lives on past records.

What i mean to say is that every person is entitled to say what they like/think/want taste wise etc, but another thing is to deny/twist visible, palpable facts.

Last time Slayer came to my town they played a 1000 capacity venue. Maiden played to 11,ooo. Maiden played 4 tracks out of 15 from the 1st 3 albums. Slayer played 10 from their first 3 albums and about 2 from the past 10 years (heres to you, setlist fm). This clown just wants/needs column inches (not the kind of inches nuno is currently dealing with).

And even if King is referring to the recent History tours, hes still full of shit RE first 3 albums. Gobble a dick, Mr King.
