If Maiden were to release an official live album from any tour of the past...

Dick Brucinson

The TRUE Dick Brucinson
which tour would you like to have a release from?
(assumed the archieve is packed with hidden stuff)

Me: No Prayer (of course.)

All the tours that haven't been documented but these first:
Killer World Tour
Somewhere On Tour
No Prayer On The Road
Blaze compilation
The Ed Hunter Tour
A Matter of Life and Death Tour

I’ll go with Eddie Rips Up the World 2005. It was my first tour. The bootlegs are excellent, but a high quality live recording would be even better.

I have several I would love:

Somewhere on Tour ‘86 (Belgrade)
No Prayer on the Road
A good Blaze show or compilation
AMOLAD Tour
Maiden England 2012/13 (would love to hear those updated versions of the SSoaSS songs)

1. Somewhere on tour 86/87
2. No prayer om the road (London 1990 full gig)
3. The x factour 1995
4. Ed hunter 1999 (Milano full gig)
5. Eddie rips up the world 2005 (Reykjavik full gig)

1. Ed hunter 1999 (Milano)
2. World Piece Tour 1983 (Hammersmith, if it was recorded)
3. Legacy of the Beast 2018 (We have NOTD at home... Indeed I mean a proper live album from the first leg which was the best tour performance-wise since 2009)
4. The Future past Tour 23/24
5. AMOLAD 2006 + AMOTB 2007

6. World Slavery Tour 1984 (Hammersmith - all the songs performed during all nights. Judging by the available audience recorded bootlegs and already officially released songs those shows were way better than Long Beach 1985)

Indeed weird move to release that show and instead they should have put out any show from the earlier part of the tour.
One of the bands biggest missed opportunities IMO. They should have released live footage and an album from 2018. I think the success of the tour caught them off guard possibly and they scrambled to get something out to make up for lost earnings during COVID.

NOTD is shocking. There are some great moments in it, but it sounds like shit.

Not that it hasn't happened before (in 1993), but releasing only a live album without a video still puzzles me to this day. The production is worse than the previous one (only the drum sound is good), but they should have released from 2018. No doubt. Can't remember, but I think their original plan was always to record the shows from SA or the cancelled 3rd year of the tour. The timing of the release wasn't good, they rushed it, such a missed opportunity, but not excuse for choosing a show that Bruce was sick for.

Why not video then? Idk what was the reason.
4. The Future past Tour 23/24
Let's see what happens, this one is a must.

Btw, weren't live releases planned from 2005, 2006/2007 and 2013 tours?

Performance wise - 1983, 1990, 1999, 2003(Give Me Ed), 2005 and 2010 are pure gold.

Yeah, I agree. I'd much rather listen to Stockholm 2018 than NOTD for example.

There is a message at the end of the Death on the Road documentary saying, ‘If you missed Eddie and the boys ripping up the stadiums and festivals this summer, you will have to wait for the next DVD’. This sounds like they had something on the works for the 2005 tour. It probably got canned due to the high quality bootleg of the Ullevi show. That was available easily by bootleg DVD and eventually YouTube.

There was an acronym of a project with an acronym closely linked to A Matter of Life and Death on Kevin Shirley’s discography on his website back in the day. Everyone assumed it was a live album from the 2006 tour. Steve and him can be heard mixing it on Flight 666. Donnington 2007 was supposed to be released but it was canned. If you check out the 2020 releases of Hallowed and Benjamin Breed from that show on YouTube, you will hear two fantastic performances. Unfortunately the rest of the show was uneven. Also the success of the SBIT tour and the Flight 666 film probably took precedence.
