If Maiden were to release an official live album from any tour of the past...

There is a message at the end of the Death on the Road documentary saying, ‘If you missed Eddie and the boys ripping up the stadiums and festivals this summer, you will have to wait for the next DVD’. This sounds like they had something on the works for the 2005 tour. It probably got canned due to the high quality bootleg of the Ullevi show. That was available easily by bootleg DVD and eventually YouTube.

I don't know, to me that sounded more like a reference to the then-upcoming next history DVD that turned out to be the LAD one.

For me I'd like the following in order of preference:

1. Somewhere on Tour
2. AMOLAD but 2 shows, 1 from each leg
3. LOTB 2018 with a bonus EP of the 3 Senjutsu songs from 2022
4. The Final Frontier NA Tour with all rotated songs
5. Ed Hunter
6. Give em Ed
7. POM tour

Basically, all big tours documented and those with 2 distinct legs having both legs represented.

Yeah, I agree. I'd much rather listen to Stockholm 2018 than NOTD for example.
Stockholm 2018 is great.

It makes sense.
Steve and him can be heard mixing it on Flight 666. Donnington 2007 was supposed to be released but it was canned. If you check out the 2020 releases of Hallowed and Benjamin Breed from that show on YouTube, you will hear two fantastic performances. Unfortunately the rest of the show was uneven. Also the success of the SBIT tour and the Flight 666 film probably took precedence.
I guess SBIT tour indeed took precedence. Iirc, they had an idea to release Download 2007 and the songs from the new album from 2006. 07 performances can be called a bit ''rough'', but I think the Download concert is very nice.
1. Somewhere on Tour
They don't have video footage from 1986, what about live tapes?
4. The Final Frontier NA Tour with all rotated songs
If they don't do a Part 2 of the new tour, the 2010 tour will be the only Reunion era tour (not full). I think they should have released a double DVD in 2011. That would have been great after the 2008 tour.

The 2010 tour is probably third on my list.
with a bonus EP of the 3 Senjutsu songs from 2022
I really want to get official live videos for the SJ songs from 2022 (because of the stage too), but I doubt the band would do it. Let's release something from TFP. I guess the only chance was during the tour like Icarus and Hills videos, the shorter songs.
6. Give em Ed
One of the most interesting sets, but I don't think the band intended to release anything from it (Wildest Dreams would have been cool). They didn't for the 1999 tour!
7. POM tour
BOH, I know, but did they record their shows back then?

Also Iron Maiden. The sound is excellent, mixed by Kevin Shirley. The video footage is not great though. It's quite dark, and there were a lot of flags in the audience that obstructed many of the cameras. Add the failed intro to NOTB, Bruce falling during Wrathchild and a slightly rusty performance it makes sense that they scrapped it.

1. Ed Huntour - Paris 1999
2. AMOLAD - Any show
3. Donington '92 remastered with a new mix by Kevin Shirley
4. Donington '88
5. No Prayer - Any show

Well, on one hand, I'd like to have an official live album for every tour that doesnt have one. But since there are quite some tours for which we may find very good sounding bootlegs (sometimes from radio or television broadcasts, soundboards or even some very good audience ones), if there was only one tour I'd like to have an official album, this would be the Ed Hunter Tour'99...because among all the bootlegs available, there is not a single one that has a very good/excellent sound quality, most of them are on the average level or even below (both audio or video recordings...and I've listened/watched most of what's available so far).

It says soundboard.

edit: it's a compilation from '99-'06 performances.

This Ed Hunter one sounds good. It says soundboard.

Actually, as it's said on the description on Youtube, this is a compilation from recordings between 99 and 2006. Believe me, I searched for years for the best bootlegs available, specially for this tour and if there are some that are quite good (a version of the second night in New York that is quite good, there is also some versions of Paris and Gothenburg if I'm not mistaken that are quite good but lets say compared to great sounding bootlegs like Hammersmith 26th of May 1983, Chicago'87, south american shows from the X-Factour and many others, the Ed Hunter tour is probably the poorest one...quite sad since it's probably one of my favorite tours in terms of setlists!

Ah yeah I forgot about that song. You are right about the lighting. It was so dark during Hallowed. The band sound amazing on that version.

Hopefully that'll come out in a post-retirement release...or preferably earlier. Since they've abandoned the video market anyway, makes sense to just release it as a live album and keep the video version buried.
