6 Times, should be at least 8 or 9, the regrets from those missed gigs are deep, man!
1. x Factour 1996, Belfast. Half full leisure centre. My second ever gig, 12 yrs old. Loved it!
2. Brave New World Tour 2001, RiR warm up in Shepards Bush Empire, LOndon. Amazing gig, I shed a tear when H ripped out the opening riff to Wicker Man. This was the culmination of 12 years of adoring Maiden, I feared I would never get to see this after Bruce left so this blew my mind. Small venue too. The intro CD for SOTC started skipping, Eddie got stuck between the amps and the stage wall and Bruce got stuck halfway up a wall during Hallowed, I think security had to help him down! Great night.
3. Eddie Rips Up Europe, Dublin 2005. Straight off the plane and to the gig after a week in Amsterdam.
4. AMOLAD, 2006. A guy got chucked out for holding up a banner sayin 'Trivium are Shite' when Trivium came on. Harsh. Sweet Savage supported, a mate of mine was drumming for them at the time and got to meet Maiden. He said Jan was the best craic. Always knew it...
5. Knebworth, 2010. What a festival and Pendulum were a great warm up to Maiden.
6. Final Frontier, Belfast, 2011. Buckfast in the car park before the show. Classy.
BIG REGRETS
1993 Real Live Tour, Belfast. I was 10, I wasn't allowed to go. My mother has never been forgiven.
2003 DOD Dublin. Didn't even know it was on, I was a poor and drunken student at the time and I was having a lull in my Maideness, which is strange as I got the single and album the day they came out. Shame on me. I met a mate who was on his way to the train to go to the gig, I nearly punched myself in the face when he told me it was on.
2008/9 Somewhere Back In Time. Out of the country and Maiden didn't play where I was. And only 1 UK gig. Fuck you Maiden!
2013/4 Maiden England. Money issues. Terrible excuse. Once again, Shame on me.
