Historical Figures 20 Questions

12. He did other forms of art as well, but he is definitely more famous for his music. That's not what I meant by the small yes.

(Go back to the exact wording of your previous question, or simply forget it. There are other ways to quess who he was :))

I am terribly curious about that hint, but I'm afraid I had too many wodka last night (besides, my cryptic qualities suck). So for the moment, I'll try to forget it.

13. Was he active in hard rock or metal?

I'll tell you: The small yes had to do with the word active, meaning that he was active only for a short time compared to the rest of his life, and also compared to his musical impact.

14. No hard rock or metal.

Then I reckon it must be a musician who had success for a very short period. E.g. one big hit and/or one or two successful albums. But who the hell died not too long ago... if we can't find this out, it will be a problem.

16. Did he die after 31-12-2006?

I guess that the man didn't impress me much, or I don't even know him. Instead, it can be that I haven't been aware that he is dead.

I can't really imagine that it was a jazz musician. I have never heard of a famous jazz musician with a short career. It must be pop music. Not much questions left, the rest will be pure gambling.

17. Is he a musician who died after 31-12-1999 and before 01-01-2007?

I'm giving a bonus of the 3 questions that were spent on narrowing down his date of birth.

14. Yes.

There was a thread about him on this forum when he died. He was an early member of an important rock band. Sadly, he may have been even more legendary for something other than music itself.

Yes. It's Roger Syd Barrett, born 1946, died 2006. Legendary member of Pink Floyd, songwriter, singer and guitarist on their 1967 debut album. Troubled by drug related mental problems, he remained in seclusion for most of his life after the 60s.

Did he really not impress you, Forostar?
Your turn anyway :)

Well, I am ashamed to say that I totally forgot about him, this morning. This may have to do with not liking this very early era of the Floyd as much as later work, and perhaps his death was also not recent enough in my mind.

But I surely realize how important and legendary he was. And I know the amazing story about the "Wish You Were Here" recording sessions, where he suddenly popped up.

Later today I'll be to a birthday party and the next two days I won't have much time to answer the questions. So I'll give the next game to the first who likes to go. :)
