Damn, I thought it could be Newton but the "one theory" confused me, as I was thinking about his three laws of motion.  But moving on...

Was this person born on/after Jan 1/1500?

If it went on, I was going to say that this person held a post in a famous university in England - that is currently held by certain wheelchair-bound scientist. :D

The "one theory" I had in mind when I said that was his theory on gravity, but as I also said he was famous for a whole host of other things. So it could not really be pinned down to one famous theory or discovery.
