Great news. Now I understand why the pro-shot videos from Budokan were taken down.
The band sounds great live. Too bad they didn't play more new songs. I thought they wouldn't release a live concert so soon after the Reunion tour, but it makes sense because this is the tour for their Reunion album.

Isn't the setlist 3 songs shorter than their usual number of songs for this tour? ''Best Time'' sounds good live. But isn't the rhythm section a bit louder in the production?

The album cover is a nice idea - but it would definitely be better if it was colored.

Is any work actually happening on a new Gamma Ray album? It's been 10 years since their last one, and half the band members went off and made multiple other albums in the meantime. Seems like Kai is totally focused on the money maker right now, which is the kitchen sink version of Helloween. I assumed Gamma Ray was dead in the water.
Kai said they were working on it and have done some live shows this year, but idk. His main priority is Helloween (who are in their best formation now imo), but if he does some other projects in the meantime, then Gamma Ray will sadly only be a live band, I guess. But Kai is not the singer, so...

Helloween have announced a 40th anniversary tour for next year. I assume tied with the upcoming new album.

I hope they mix the set better. The tour poster with the Keeper is cool. Their 2nd mascot. What about special guests?

The two Oslo shows are tempting.

New video from Live At Budokan. This time, it's the song "Save Us". :)

Save Us is like Sanctuary for the band, classic bonus song. It should have been an album song. The filming is good. But I think this song is tough for Kiske and he is not comfortable with it. They should play other rare songs.

Andi:
''I'd say it's much more easy listening, because there's less constructed stuff on it. It's more flowing with the wind, so to say. It's very, very positive, so I would rather say it's more happy, happy HELLOWEEN than the other album. I think it's a bit more… yeah, the flow is, for my taste, not as edgy as the last album, which was cool — I like edgy stuff — but we should have more or less some counterpart to edgy, more exhausting things. The last album, for me, was great to listen through — it was edgy, it was heavy, it was complicated here and there — but after listening to it, then I needed a pause. It was exhausting. I needed some break, put it that way. I loved it, and I still love it, but it's demanding. I think the next album will be much more easy listening, I think much more enjoyable to sing along [to]; there are lots of parts in there. So I would rather describe it as a more happy, happy HELLOWEEN album. That would be the best description. It's hard to describe, because there are lots of speedy and heavy things on it. But when I listen through it, I feel good. I mean, that's a good sign. Not that I felt bad when I listened to the last album — that's not what I mean. It's fun. I listen to it, and it's fun. Definitely''.

So the new album will be more straightforward, catchier and probably shorter material?

Maybe in the vein of 'Walls Of Jericho' and the 1st two 'Keepers'. :)

That's the impression I got, but I'm happy either way. Helloween can do no wrong in my eyes.
Agreed.

I don't think these 2 albums are the most appropriate examples. I guess more like the most recent albums (2010-2015) or the first albums with Andi?
Yeah this is never good to hear when it comes to metal albums...
Well, ''happy'' has always been a part of the band's sound.
