Helloween & Gamma Ray

Is it just me or does Miracle (Bonus Track on Somewhere Out in Space) just a slowed down version of Man on a Mission (off Land of the Free) with some different lyrics (I think things like the whole chorus is the same)?

Cool!

Probably not an easy decision and it looks like they're taking the time to handle current matters as well as possible. I am curious if this could mean the end for Gamma Ray. Their line-up was unchanged since Somewhere Out in Space, and Kai must feel some loyalty towards the other guys.

Kusch followed up Schwichtenberg (RIP!) but I can imagine that he and Grapow left the band in bad terms.

Yeah, but Kiske left on bad terms too, so if he can come back, why can't Kusch? :P Though I don't think he'll want to do it. He joined Timo Tolkki's new band Symfonia, but decided not to tour saying he's sick of that lifestyle. (Btw. that band doesn't exist anymore)

How did you guys feel about To The Metal? I thought it was pretty good, I'm glad they were able to make such a strong comeback from LOTFII

(Thought this was worth sharing alone for the awesome guitar work by Sascha Gerstner)

And I recently said that the band had been so long together?!

Maybe the upcoming Helloween reunion set some angry blood (perhaps not at all, just guessing).

It's true... His replacement, Michael Ehré, played on all shows since last year + some guy from Gamma Ray forum met Kai and he confirmed it.

Yeah Foro, I thought about that. Maybe he didn't like Unisonic (which is taking time away from Gamma Ray) or Helloween reunion (if it's true).

Zimmermann wrote by himself: Cosmic Chaos, Dethrone Tyranny, Damn The Machine, Condemned To Hell, Spiritual Dictator, Hellfire, Empress, Rise and Wannabees.
He co-wrote: Beyond The Black Hole, Strangers In The Night and Gardens Of The Sinner.

Woah, losing Dan is going to be a big blow for Gamma Ray. :( He wasn't just a great drummer, but also a great songwriter too. It's ironic that he left Freedom Call so that he could dedicate himself full-time to Gamma Ray. With that said, he could very well have been annoyed about Kai dedicating so much time to Unisonic when he had sacrificed his place in Freedom Call for Gamma Ray. Whatever the reason, unlike a lot of other drummers, Dan was not expendable, and cannot be adequately replaced by just another drummer. As I said, Daniel was more than just a great drummer. And Kai really landed on his feet getting him in the band. Daniel has written some of the best songs on the last few albums. I'll definitely miss him a lot.

What's all this about a Helloween reunion? Last I heard they were finishing up recording a new album with Andi Deris.... this must surely be only a rumour...

Read this Sara. It is a rumor, but it might turn out true, who knows...

Well, since Kai joined Unisonic, I've seen several interviews where Michi (Michael Kiske) has been asked about the possibility of a Helloween reunion, and every time, he has said it wouldn't be a good idea, and he doesn't think it will happen. Unlike a lot of Michi fans, I love the Andi Deris Helloween almost as much as classic-era line-up. Which makes me feel kinda torn about the idea of a reunion. I admit, I would absolutely love to see Kai and Michi back in Helloween, but I also don't want to see the demise of the Andi-era as a consequence of that. I love Andi a lot, and much of the reason Helloween resurrected itself after the disasterous early 90's period of the band was due to Andi. They became a great metal band again mainly thanks to Andi. And he has a great voice too. I would be surprised if Michi agreed to a reunion, but personally, I would love it if there was some way to have the reunion, but not at the expense of Andi and Sascha.
