Guess The Iron Maiden Song!

Re: "a prayer for the dying", Steve was going to call it this but reasoned that Eddie wouldn't give anyone a prayer so changed it to no prayer.

I confused myself with the thinking re: clue 1 being they had no chorus, as I always considered the god give me the answer part to be the chorus even though it's not repeated. I don't think I would have guessed any earlier though as I need the clue from roskilde to narrow it down. I knew they hadn't played there too often and I had a hunch that the live version in clue 4 would be a b-side so it was a case of looking for what tracks that were b-sides and where played on the tours they played roskilde.
Ah, I didn't know that (this thread is quite educational). As an album name, "no prayer" is definitely a cooler statement.

When the "no chorus"-idea came up in the thread, I actually had to give the song another listen. Like you, I was unsure about the "God give me"... part - is it a chorus repeated once? As it comes in at the very end, after the solos and all, I'd say it's not. I guess the memorable guitar part fills in as a chorus.

No to all.

Clue #1: Clock reference
Clue #2: Moonlight catches silver tears that I cry?

Incorrect guesses: 2 Minutes To Midnight, Bring Your Daughter...To The Slaughter, 2 A.M.
