Guess The Iron Maiden Song!

Clue #1 Luboš Kohoutek might help with this riddle
Clue #2 While I christened an empire and advised royalty, my obsession for knowledge and my own gullibility proved to be my undoing.

Incorrect guesses: Starblind; When Two Worlds Collide; Out of the Silent Planet.

Clue 1: "Stranger than the comet as it streaks across the sky" Kohoutek was an astronomer who discovered several comets (wikipedia-ed it :P )
Clue 2: John Dee was a alchemist/scientist and conseleour of the Queen and he inventedthe term "British Empire"

The Alchemist is tbe correct answer and Karljant sussed out the clues.

Clue 1: I think “The Alchemist” is the only Maiden song that mentions a comet in its lyrics. Luboš Kohoutek was an astromomer best known for the comet named after him.

Clue 2: The Maiden song is directly about the alchemist John Dee, who was an advisor to Queen Elizabeth I and who’s credited with coining the phrase “British Empire.” Later in his life, Dee fell out of royal favor when James I ascended to the throne. He also became increasingly frustrated with science and turned more to mysticism for answers. As a result he was duped by a charlatan named Edward Kelley who, among other things, convinced Dee to let him sleep with Dee’s wife.
