But for me Heaven and Hell, in surprisingly clear-cut fashion.

Judas Priest - Painkiller

Easily. Despite my avatar, despite my immense respect for Dio's voice, despite my love for Heaven and Hell's title track, Painkiller is simply the best non-Maiden metal album. What a ride!

I can't compare these because they don't have the same number of tracks.

Both albums are fantastic, but Painkiller's pedal to the metal approach appeals a little more to me. Up there with Ride The Lightning and Rust In Peace as my favourite non-Maiden metal albums.

Painkiller it is.
