Dennis Wilcock did 9/11
Danzig - Danzig - Lacrimosa's blend of influences are jelling together enough for me. Danzig is simple hard rock but it's perfectly decent. A weird round with both participants not really being metal.
Opeth - Orchid - While nowhere near as refined as their later output, Orchid just has too many great riffs and passages throughout. There are portions in the album where it feels a bit bloated, but the blend and overall aesthetic they have going on here is just excellent.
Cult of Luna - Mariner - It was decent enough for me to vote for it over a non-metal album. In Utero may or may not be the better album overall, but the concept of the game tilts my vote toward Mariner.
Strapping Young Lad - City - Have already expressed my high praise for City, it'll be sad to see it go but it's understandable - not something that would appeal to a lot of people. Accept does nothing for me, not exciting in any way as a heavy metal band.
