Dance Macabre is a little bit tame. It's the sort of song that absolutely any rock-ish band could have brought out, and I suspect that's part of the appeal. Potentially radio friendly and mainstreamish. It's not all that Ghosty to me.

I disagree. I, for example, would definitely use this song as a way of getting people into Ghost. Despite not having been written by the band, I think it sums up their current style and evolution through the years pretty well.
