Meh, I thought Battle Of The Bastards was fun af.
I don't understand how this is even possible. The level of plot armour on Jon is absolutely ridiculous.
1) Jon is caught at the apex of two cavalry charges, and is completely unharmed, despite that fact that both cavalry forces were shown as charging forward shoulder to shoulder.
2) Jon fights through a massive melee without being wounded, despite being surrounded and outnumbered.
3) Ramsay orders a volley of arrows. Jon lies down - he doesn't even curl up into a ball - and the arrows literally skewer the entire ground around him, with...literally 31 arrows hitting the ground around him and none hitting.
4) Jon gets crushed under what is portrayed as dozens of people stampeding over him. Not only does he survive this, he is completely unharmed, as evidenced by the fact that he gets up and kills Smalljon Umber immediately thereafter.
5) When the Knights of the Vale arrive in an absolute deus ex machina, they charge perfectly and somehow know who to kill and who not to kill, despite nobody inside the pocket having banners.
6) Jon has exactly zero wounds, he doesn't even limp afterwards. Also, he just watches Wun Wun die and Ramsay could have shot Jon, but he chose not to.
7) Ramsay shoots Jon 3x with arrows. Jon is fast enough to block them with a shield, but the shield is thin enough to be fully pierced by the arrow. Which means
it would keep going through.
It's patently ridiculous, completely unimmersive, and only shows the contempt the screenwriters had for their audience.
