i'd say doug samson, but he's not on the list, so it'll have to be nicko. seriously tho, as a drummer, if i reach half the skill nicko has by the time i die, i'll be going a very happy man!

I would have to say clive because his drumming
style and image are cool

(sorry Nicko)

OKay, bear with me on this one......

I have voted for mr McBrain, he is a fantastic drummer. But being a drummer myself, I find that when playing Maiden in a covers band it works really well to play both styles. Hallowed be thy name is great to drum to, use Burr's drumming mainstay with McBrains fills. Fantastic.........

I voted for Clive. Especially after seeing the Early Days tour. I like the speed at which some of those were played with Clive. Also, Clive's drum rolls and fills seem faster and cleaner.

Anyway, Nicko is a good drummer, and has been the back bone of the band for years, so I could never say a bad word about the guy, but given the choice I take Clive.

I respect Burr, but I like McBrain. I think he is a great drummer.

Clive is probably the better drummer but Nicko is more of a character in the band and a funny guy. Clive also had weird hair in his day!

Got a brain? Clive couldn´t was too slow to play the drums from piece of mind album, he always complained that it was too fast drums. Nicko is one of the worlds best drummer.
Thats more than you can say about clive, who was good enough for the 3 first albums but he cant play fast

Ever heard any bootlegs of the time he was in the band? If you had, you certainly wouldn't say that...

I vote for Clive. Actually Nicko is fine on the songs he originally played on but I just don't like the way he plays Clive's songs.
I understand he wants to stamp his own authority, and some of his fills do add something to the songs, but most of the time I feel he'es worsening them.
And I don't like they way he seems to accelerate some songs and slow down other ones, but that's maybe not just Nicko's fault.

NICKOO... heheh he makes me laugh SOO much.. his faces are just great [!--emo&--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/lol[1].gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'lol[1].gif\' /][!--endemo--]

I have a question about him... does he really never uses double pedal? (well excepting face in the sand)

I have read that Nicko doesn't use a double pedal in any of his songs. Not even Face in the Sand. Apparantly it nearly killed him doing that song in the studio and that's why they couldn't perform it live. NICKOOOOO!!!!! There's his amazing single pedal bass drum work, of course, and I love all of the intricate things he does with the cymbals. Beautiful! Nothing could ever beat his drumming on 7th son! Man, I would be so lucky if I could ever play like that! Clive rules too, and some of my favorite drum parts come from him (Phantom of the Opera, Killers, 22 Acacia Avenue, Hallowed be Thy Name), but Nicko exudes so much positive energy and looks like he's loving every minute of it when he's playing. To me, he's the most inspirational drummer since Keith Moon.
