Janick sucks!....Just kidding [!--emo&:)--]/smile.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'smile.gif\' /][!--endemo--] I dig them all. We should follow all of their lights and bow [!--emo&--]/bowdown.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'bowdown.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

VOTE Janick because he is great in the stage and have a great Rock 'n Roll spirit on his solos!!!

Dave Murray's solos are the most pleasing to my ears, though I would have to say Janick is my favorite rhythm guitarist out of the three.

a really tough question - I think Adrian and Dave are equally good, this time I voted for H, because in the 245,404 other "best guitarist" polls on the official BB I voted for Dave.

Their solos are pure brilliance, very precise and accurate

I know exactly what you mean, I feel the same way, been tellin' that to people all the time.

I chose "all great" cuz it's true [!--emo&--]/blush.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'blush.gif\' /][!--endemo--] . as a guitarist and a huge maiden fanatic, I've been influenced by all three, all have their own feel & style, jan really got to me because of his sometimes page-like licks, showmanship & feel. davey really for his amazing legato fludity and also his special feel, and H's memorable melody and also unique feel. when I play, the most noticeable influence is obviously jan, and dave, because of them I have been working on developing my legato playing and focusing less on full-picking shreddin' which I hate anyway...

Anyways they all rock!!!

I was listenin' to brave new world today to get inspired, hadn't listened to it in awhile and it's been a couple of days since I played maiden because of many reasons, and I was listenin' to the title track, and jan's solo just blew me away all over again... he's guitar howls and roars and his feel is incredible...

Just wanted to say that...

I think that they are all really great players. I could not dicide. I did thought that I would not like Janick when he first joined because i liked Adrian alot but I discovered that he was a really good player.

I voted for Davey. I have always liked his solos and his style. Janick and Adrian are both great players, but still: Dave Murray rules!

[!--QuoteBegin-wasted in paris+Jan 14 2005, 06:30 PM--][div class=\'quotetop\']QUOTE(wasted in paris @ Jan 14 2005, 06:30 PM)[/div][div class=\'quotemain\'][!--QuoteEBegin--]To me, H is the best cos not only is he a brilliantly inspired axe player even if he's sometimes a bit of a "slowhand" as Eric Clapton fans would say. but who needs virtuoso like Yngwe Malmsteen playinh 10 000 notes a minute without any feeling... Every note H plays oozes grace, BUT he can also sing pretty well AND write some great songs which the two other ones can't (OK Davey tried harder these last  years but apart from Still Life, Deja Vu & possibly Rainmaker what main contribution to the band did he come up with?)
Plus H was always the one with the good looks and the pretty face (well, forget 'bout this bloody mullet just 5 minutes please)  & NO: I'm not in love! But if you just put them all 3 in line on or off stage, really, there's no discussing about who's got the presence and the best guitar licks: H simply stands above the rest.

How can you question Daveys contribution, after all he inveted Charlot the Harlot and wrote the song!!!!!! He is by far the best, listen to a Solo from say Killers or Number of the beast and then listen to Brave new world and Bance of death albums, not only has he kept to his original style he has augmented it with new styles too, he use to use one or two scales to creat his solos but now is is up to about 6

Maybe you mean positions, scale-wise, davey is strictly a minor pentatonic player when it comes to soloin', he does move around the fretboard more tho if that's what you mean, even tho when he improvs live he pretty much sticks to two of the basic boxes.

[!--emo&--]/bowdown.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'bowdown.gif\' /][!--endemo--] it's gotta be h you guys. i mean The trooper, wasted years, stranger, rime of the ancient mariner, die with your boots on, 2 minutes to midnight, aces high, and from dance of death the two best solos of the album have got to be new frontier and face in the sand. the man is a god. yeah dave is more technically gifted and jan is superb on stage but H puts back in Maiden what was sadly lacking 1990 - 1999 (i.e when their record sales werent so hot) melody, emotion and power. nuff said

[!--emo&B)--]/cool.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'cool.gif\' /][!--endemo--] OK so maybe i was being a bit harsh on davey and jan there. I just got a bit carried away. I love all 3 of em. Davey's solos on Killers, Paschendale and his work on The Clairvoyant are all outstanding. I love Jan's stuff on Blood Brothers. BUT H IS STILL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a tough topic. Their all good! Each one brings a distinct tone and flavor to the band. I'm glad they are all in the band. Each guitarist takes a diffrent approach to their lead playing, I think they all compliment each other well.

Dave. Adrian is amazing, but Dave has an extra something. However, Dave & H work well together, both seem to lack something when seperated.

Janick, technically speaking, is not as good as the others IMO. He can play really well (his solos on BNW for example) but his solos on Hallowed... and the like are not really as amazing as they could be.

Davey gets my vote!

Dave's solos make me [!--emo&--]/headbang.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'headbang.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
