I'm not sure where to put this, as I don't think there are many Cruachan or Debauchery fans here, so I'll just drop this here. From Cruachan's Facebook page:

Hi, Just to give you all an update on some legal crap that has been happening with the title of our latest album. Just before the end of last year our record label received an email from Thomas Gurrath from the German Death Metal band Debauchery. He told them (and showed them) that he has copyright for the 2 words “Blood God” in the territory of Germany. He threatened our label and told them he will sue them for releasing our album which is called “Blood for the Blood God”. (Cruachan never heard of Debauchery before any of this). He demanded all products be taken off shelves and nothing be sold with the words Blood God on it. Our label tried to reason with him because this is completely ridiculous, petty and childish. Cruachan and Debauchery are two completely different bands and the name Blood God is relevant to Irish mythology and history as that is how some people refer to Crom Cruach. We really see no reason why he had this mission to stop our albums being sold. He did not care what our label had to say. We have never seen anything like this happen in the metal scene, you would expect it from much bigger bands. We fail to see how Cruachan using the name “Blood God” will affect anything Debauchery do or affect their sales or whatever. So, as a result, our label have come to an agreement where we can sell off the existing Cruachan merchandise but can produce no more to sell in Germany. (We plan to use the title “Blood for Crom Cruach” going forward for Germany only). He has also received a financial compensation as well. From now on we cannot make any more merchandise that has “Blood God” written on it. Cruachan have kept out of all of this and allowed the record label try and fix this issue. As they and Debauchery have reached an agreement we feel it was time to tell our fans what Thomas Gurrath has done to us. Our record label can no longer sell merchandise in Germany with the word “Blood God”, we can still sell outside Germany with the original title but Trollzorn are a German label, this is a real disaster for them. Thank you Thomas Gurrath for doing this to us for no real reason! What has happened to artistic integrity? Or empathy with bands trying to survive in this current musical situation, there should be solidarity between bands – not this disgraceful behaviour!!!!

This got publicised today, and of course Debauchery's FB page is going wild.

1/3 Of London Men Are Too Fat To See Their Own Genitals (neither can 100% of Metallica drummers)

Almost one third of London men are so overweight they are unable to see their own genitals, according to a survey.

The study, carried out across all regions of the UK, found the highest percentage of men who could not see their privates due to their bulging stomachs were in the West Midlands and the lowest number in the South East.

A new online men's health service has launched a campaign to encourage men to watch their weight by checking if the view of their penis is obstructed.

WeLoveOurHealth.co.uk - has launched the 'Big Check' Campaign. The initiative, backed by leading medical professionals, hopes to encourage men to make one simple, yet potentially lifesaving health check - by asking "Can you see your manhood?" - to highlight the importance of a man's waist measurement, rather than his Body Mass Index (BMI), for determining his risk of developing weight-related illness such as stroke, diabetes and heart disease.

The website's online doctor, and A&E specialist Dr Johan du Plessis, said: "This new research is really worrying and men must be encouraged to wake up to the potential life threatening risks of being overweight and to make this vital check.

"An obese man who can't see his penis is five times more likely to develop type 2 diabetes, three times more likely to develop cancer of the colon and more than two and a half times more likely to develop high blood pressure - a major risk factor for stroke and heart disease."

The percentage of men surveyed who said their belly obstructs their view of their genitals:

East Anglia 36.54%

East Midlands 37.74%

London 30.57%

North East 35.19%

North West 39.26%

Northern Ireland 34.62%

Scotland 30%

South East 22.89%

South West 23.66%

Wales 30.95%

West Midlands 43.33%

Yorkshire and the Humber 38.20%

So some museum in the city of Vrbas in Serbia was supposed to have some manifestation/celebration thingy, and a choir was supposed to perform at it. The choir sings all kinds of songs, including Bohemian Rhapsody, however when the museum board heard about it, they forbade them from performing it because it's "gay" and "satanic"

BEIJING (AP) — Rules making it easier to file lawsuits in China have led to a new concern over frivolous claims, such as one in which a man says actress Zhao Wei stared at him too intensely through his TV set.

The regulations making it more difficult for courts to reject lawsuits took effect May 1, leading to an increase in cases nationwide last month of 29 percent compared with same period last year, to just over 1 million cases, according to the Supreme People's Court.

The registration system requires courts to accept legitimate lawsuits when they are filed or clearly state the reasons for rejecting them, and citizens have the right to appeal the decisions.

"Previously, it was difficult for administrative cases, such as people suing governments, to be accepted," said Li Heping, a Beijing lawyer.

In announcing the registration system, the official Xinhua News Agency said: "Authorities are determined to put an end to obstructive behavior by courts and officials meddling in cases."

The change has led to Shanghai Pudong New District Court receiving a case against Zhao, the court's litigation service hotline confirmed. The court official, who declined to identify himself, refused to say whether the court had accepted the case.

Zhao is one of China's biggest and richest movie stars, and starred in director John Woo's "Red Cliff."

Reports say the lawsuit filed by a Shanghai man involves the prime-time TV show "Tiger Mom" which debuted in May and centers on a couple's differing approach to raising their daughter. Zhao plays the big-eyed mother who relentlessly pushes her daughter's development, while the father wants his child to have more freedom.

The Legal Daily said the plaintiff was alleging Zhao's stare caused him "spiritual damage."

Gan Wen, deputy head of a case-filing chamber under the Supreme Court, said at a news conference Tuesday that the Zhao case was an example of citizens abusing their right to file lawsuits.

"It's not necessary to waste our judicial resources on cases like these," Gan said.

Queen unimpressed by German President's painting

The Queen was left unimpressed by a painting given to her by German President Joachim Gauck of her with George VI, asking: "Is that supposed to be my father?".

A school administrator from Hartford City, Indiana, recently told a House subcommittee that a “contraband economy” in food flavoring packets had arisen in response to the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, according to The Washington Free Beacon:

“Perhaps the most colorful example in my district is that students have been caught bringing–and even selling–salt, pepper, and sugar in school to add taste to perceived bland and tasteless cafeteria food,” said John S. Payne, the president of Blackford County School Board of Trustees in Hartford City, Indiana.

“This ‘contraband’ economy is just one example of many that reinforce the call for flexibility [with the rules],” he said.

Payne noted other problems with the “one-size-fits-all” approach to providing healthier meals to students, including fewer kids participating in the program and higher food waste. The trend started in 2012, when the school lunch law, which was championed by Mrs. Obama, went into effect.

“Students are avoiding cafeteria food,” Payne said. “More students bring their lunch, and a few parents even ‘check out’ their child from campus, taking them to a local fast-food restaurant or home for lunch.”

Payne also said school fundraisers like bake sales, have been canceled due to the rules, and “whole-grain items and most of the broccoli end up in the trash” in his district.
