Horrible things happening in Iran. Morality police killed young woman for not wearing hijab. Now protests everywhere. I support Iranian women and wish that this stupid, religion driven regime will fall. In such moments I feel that our civilized shell is very thin, and hatred and cry for revenge is overwhelming. (I mean, in some way, I want to kill those 'morality' bastards.)

After 35 years, the painting that Gust Van de Mierop (78), former mayor of Rijkevorsel, accidentally found in his attic 35 years ago, appears to be a real Magritte. Gazet van Antwerpen writes this and Van de Mierop told Radio2. René Magritte is the greatest Belgian surrealist. The painting owned by Van de Mierop is a realistic portrait, which led to doubts for a long time whether it was real.
 
Woman opposing participation of trans women on women’s sports teams assaulted at San Francisco University:

Riley Gaines, a former college swimmer, gave a talk at San Francisco University, in which she opposed allowing transgender women to compete in women’s sports. She was met by an angry crowd chanting and screaming at her to leave.
While Gaines gave her speech, protestors continued to disrupt the event, drowning her out by stomping and yelling inside the room and in the hallway immediately outside while she spoke.
After her speech, police attempted to escort Gaines to a secure location, but the crowd followed them out of the room and down the hallway, screaming and shouting until police locked Gaines in a secure room. Gaines reportedly remained trapped inside the room for almost three hours until the protestors dispersed and police escorted her out.

“Cisgender woman who gets beaten by four other cisgender women in a swimming competition decides that the trans woman she tied with is the reason she didn’t win” is how the articles ought to read. The violence may be a bridge too far, but in a society where trans people are at threat of being systematically removed, I honestly don’t care about how these transphobes are the ‘real victims’.

“What the fuck” = HRT, which Lia Thomas, the swimmer who kickstarted Gaines’s bigotry arc, has been doing for years now. HRT radically changes your body; for a trans woman it means you lose a lot of muscle mass and with that goes your strength. Thomas has followed all the guidelines to be able to compete in women’s sports, and again, didn’t even win the competition that Gaines is still mad about. There’s a difference between not being on HRT and competing and being on HRT and competing. After a certain amount of time the difference between a trans woman’s body and a cis woman’s is practically nil.

I knew, that the next argument will be 'what if a woman or a man loses one of the reproductive organs...' I swear, I saw it coming.
In my eyes, if a woman loses a womb due to illness, or a man (gets prostate removed due to cancer) remains a woman and a man. Because it is a MAJOR illness. If a girl was born without a womb, she's a girl/woman. If woman can't have children, due to health problems, she is/remains a woman. That's how I look at it.
I accept trans people, but they are no way in the same category as real women/men. They are just different.
