Van Halen - You Really Got Me (The Kinks cover) - much heavier and better

Shot in The Dark - Jeff Scott Soto (Ozzy cover) Looks like it's not an Ozzy lovefest in here.   This one rocks so much that I can't remember the last time I listened to the original.

Scream Of Anger - Talisman (Europe cover) One of the composers is here but I guess it counts for a cover since it is a different band.Much heavier than the original and with Jeff Scott Soto on vocals.

These aren't all better than the originals, but the Diamonds and Rust, Baker Street, and Whiter Shade are better.

Am I Evil - Metallica: Sorry, nothing can compare to this cover. It takes a brilliant song and makes it better. Much better.

Walk on By - The Stranglers: Could this Dionne Warwick track sound any better? Er, no! 1:28 on is sublime.

Gypsy - Raging Speedhorn: Again, I love the original but this is so much heavier - if it could ever be ("I fucked up loads man").

I disagree with you here! I think the original version by Diamond Head is the better one but Metallica's (the version I heard first) is still very good.

I disagree - And especially about it being a poor song to begin with. Max Martin is an awesome songwriter and an awesome producer. It's a kickass song - Regardless of genre.
