My votes:

I love Evenflow, but Aerosmith has to be the one to move on here. Dream On
One of Petty's best. Breakdown
Led Zep mentions Gollum, that wins. Ramble On
Guitar solo not as impressive on the live version, but Golden Earring still gets it. Twilight Zone

My votes:

First pair is brutal. I've always thought Satisfaction deserves to be near the top of a ranking like this. But Sandman is as big for its own time as Satisfaction was. Either choice feels like I'm shorting the other. But, there are plenty of other Stones in the game, and if "One" holds its lead for one more day, then Sandman will be the only Metallica song left. I vote for Metallica to move on. Enter Sandman

Second pair is interesting. Great Def Leppard song, and it's the last Def Lep in the game. I'd love to see it move on, but I also have to face myself in the mirror every day, thus I cannot lie. Limelight

Don't touch Lola.

Seems about right that the better DLR-era VH song here is a cover. Eruption / You Really Got Me

Last one was way too tough. I really like the 1984 album and I think Jump is an awesome song. Eruption is a game changer for guitar though and I can't bring myself to vote against it.

It didn't invent finger tapping if that was what you meant. I believe Jeff Beck did that. Or Steve Hackett.

Not what I meant. But the finger tapping is a huge part of it, while EVH didn't invent it, he did popularize it.

Feels so wrong to vote against Satisfaction, but you know what? I like Sandman better. So there.

You Really Got Me x2 plus Limelight

I went for Sandman too. Satisfaction is also a good song, but for me it will forever be associated with Snickers adverts.
