No I never did torrent. I firmly believe that artists should be paid for what they create. I don’t care if iron maiden are millionaires, to me that just means they’ve created a product that loads of people want so good for them.

I never used torrent and never pirated anything, music or films.

If you want to watch it before the gig you’re going to then buy it. It’s on iTunes and Amazon prime so it’s easily accessible.

Sorry if this comes across as preachy but that’s my stance.

Another thief. This is one of the reasons why some bands like Maiden don’t release dvds/blu rays anymore because they know theirs a huge amount of people out their who think they are entitled to watch and listen to stuff for free.

Don’t worry about the hard work the band puts into stuff and the cost it takes to produce as long you get to watch for free right!

I agree with the above but every time Maiden or anyone else plays live it`s available to watch within hours for free on Youtube .Most people on here tune in to watch the live stuff having not paid a penny and are happy to do so and critique it to boot as if they were there for good or bad.

When Maiden were taking down Youtube videos last year on the tour some people on here were having a go at them for basically protecting their product.

It is not just the artists. There are lots of people whose work goes into making that product and their livelihood depends on that.

Man chill out. I have almost everything what Maiden released on vinyl, cd, cassette etc. Plus I have over 500 physical games and movies. I’m the collector. I used to torrentz a lot in the past to watch tv series or movies unavailable in Poland. Now it’s not worth it as streaming is so cheap. In the case like this when Prime is not allowing to buy the movie outside US - it’s the only option by NOW ;)
Ps. I also pre ordered steelbook version via Amazon.com and gonna pay shipping costs :) torrentz are for people like everything else. Don’t be a preacher in this field especially on old fashion old forum for people who raised using these options to watch films back in the day. Cheers and see you on the barrier.
 
As Maiden confirmed a DVD/Blu ray release later this year in recent post, I'm interested in what do you think bonus content could be?
As it's going to be an official Maiden release (after 13 years), I hope it won't be just behind the scenes/deleted scenes. For 2004 DVD which follows first 8 years of the band, we got bunch of bonus stuff as well as 4 incomplete shows with 4 major lineups of that period. Of course they can't fit here 7 or so concerts, but we may get few live songs from tours across their career or tours that don't have official live release.
What do you think?

Is it an official Maiden release? Or is it coming from the filmmakers, whom Steve vaguely distanced himself from a week or so before it launched?

I know they helped to promote it a little and several showed up at the premiere, but Steve also said the band wasn't really involved (though Bruce said he gave some input in the edit). If it's primarily being released by the filmmakers (with Maiden's blessing), I'd say the best we're likely to get would be behind the scenes/deleted scenes. If Maiden was putting it out, there would be a chance for live stuff--a fully-produced video of Nicko's last show would've been amazing, since him stepping down was a significant moment in the film. Unfortunately, I don't think there's any evidence anything major was filmed by the band on Future Past.

I hope we do get some quality bonuses, but not holding my breath.

Given that Burning Ambition merchandise is being sold at the Iron Maiden website, I'd say that Iron Maiden LLP are quite behind the whole thing regardless of what Steve might think of the end product.

Very good point. Haven't been to the Maiden shop in many moons, so I'm a bit out of the loop in that regard.

Iron Maiden are never shy to make money out of any Maiden-related products, but I have never seen them try to sell merchandising based on any unofficial material.

Joking aside, the IMDB credits list Rod Smallwood, Andy Taylor, and Dave Shack as executive producers, Ben Smallwood as co-producer, and Alexander Milas (the FC boss) as associate producer. No wonder the thing came across as a hagiography.

As "meh" as I was about the title of the documentary, I like the artwork for it even less. :D

The executive producer credits for management aren't terribly surprising, but yes, it does confirm it had more Maiden involvement than Steve let on. I imagine Steve meant the band itself was more hands off than if it had been a project entirely devised by them, but who knows.

I kind of don't expect any bonuses, idk why. A pro-shot video from Nicko's last TFP show would be great (I mean they approved a few Wacken 2023 live videos). Videos from tours that we don't have official releases for would generally be best. What else, deleted/behind the scenes, more animations with Eddie...

I would prefer to have a live video of TFP tour over the RFYL tour. However, I don’t think it’s going to happen. They have released some footage from Wacken, but I think there might be some reluctance. It is probably due to Nicko’s performance. He was a shadow of his former self and probably doesn’t want this to be cemented in an official live recording.
 
Incredibly surface-level stuff. If I'd gone into this not knowing anything about Maiden I'd have come away none the wiser as to why they're a global phenomenom whose music resonates with so many people. Flight 666 does a much better job of capturing this.
