TBH I am more interested in his new album hopefully recorded early next year with the touring band. I will listen to the new mixes but doubt they will usurp the originals for me.

It will be interesting if he records more or less live in the way Maiden do with the complete band. I am sure he is looking forward to having Tanya in the studio.....

Did he actually play Children of the Grave? Is there any bootleg?
I think Setlist.fm mistaken "Children of the Grave" for "Children of the Damned" - this one was played in the AOB promo tour.

I doubt they'll record live in the studio, I just want a better overall production and more takes.

Children Of The Damned, I never knew that! He has input on it and it makes sense to play it with Adrian. I doubt there's audio?

I am in two minds about picking up the album. I still like to collect physical media, but I am very picky. I like how CD AND vinyl sounds on my home stereo, and I kind of want to hear how the album sounds on that rather than a stream through headphones.

I'm the same. I've reduced the physical media I buy down to about bands 5 or so nowadays. It doesn't help their cause when a lot of bands have downgraded the effort they put into CD packaging as well, with no interior art, lyrics, etc. I'll be definitely getting More Balls once I get back from vacation, since Bruce solo is one of those 5 or so bands.

I believe there is, but never managed to hear one. Even pictures are kind of hard to come out.

Tears of the Dragon re-imagined is a total disaster. Production feels all over the place & unnecessarily heavy. Bruce’s voice again gets foreshadowed. The use of sound effects was not really needed but well… oh and the heavy drums just don’t go well for this track. The original one is perfect!!!

Overall the BTP remix helped some of the songs to shine more and be heavier, and it was more or less Bruce's original vision for the album, but I also like the original rough production. But because of the many sounds and TMP mix, I feel like the end result (all things) could have been cleaner - like Gods Of War, btw (drums too!). The original is still cleaner!! Not much has been added, but at least it's something.

Songs that benefit imo: Gods Of War, Change Of Heart (a very nice fuller sound, like overall and Hell No), 1000 Points Of Light (keys under the chorus, nice) and I guess Laughing In The Hiding Bush and Cyclops. Shoot All The Clown is even more fun.

I like some of the ideas and sounds in Tears Of The Dragon (keys during some parts of the solo is cool) and Sacred Cowboys (more powerful, but intro and verses are ruined), but overall I don't think this new mix fits them that much. Tears has so many sounds (not sure about some of them really) and the modern drums are kind of unnecessary. Also, the acoustic guitar isn't that impactful. What's up with Bruce's solo albums and the weak drum sound...

The ''Live in the Studio'' songs are just curious. Gods Of War sounds great. Roy's solo is a little different, but still good.

Agreed. Why change something that's allready perfect?
I guess he just wanted some changes, the ''reimagined'' part (removing the scram in Cowboys is bad though). And isn't the earlier versions of the song with more such sounds? Overall, a decent and curious work.

The only album he had a crisp drum sound was Tyranny of Souls. Like Bruce’s solo album production peaked at that album.

i didn't like the new mix, same guy who mixed the mandrake project and I don't know what he is doing technically, sonically... i cant really describe but his approach is really not working for my ear. mandrake had the worst sound ever, worse than x-factor.:))

for example, why bass guitar is this loud on this mix? Hasn't the guy already been exposed to enough loud bass guitar over the maiden years? :)))

still, liked some stuff like the "war drums" percussion work on Gods of War and the orchestration on Tears.
