Thanks for the translation. Man, I thought the interviewer's job was to ask questions about the artist, not just heap constant praise on the new album without even asking a question (and also kinda putting down Maiden on several questions). :D

Nothing beats some arse licking to keep artists happy!

My sole question is, if he wants to perform it and the rest of the band has no issue with the song, then why is it an impossibility? Because it won't be included on the half-and-half album tour? Who gives a shit, just shove it in somewhere in the 2025 set. The rule about non-album tour premieres they've stuck to so far has been broken now so it literally shouldn't matter one bit.

I mean, splitting hairs but I was interpreting that as him talking specifically about this year's upcoming setlist. If they really want to do it live in the future nothing is stopping them, but considering that all Maiden shows in this decade so far have heavily featured Senjutsu I think it's understandable and expected that they're going to give that album a break on the next (and quite possibly last) tour.

And surprised me. Sounds like Bruce wanted to perform. Maybe Death of the Celts is a decision by Steve.
Wasn´t there a rumour, within this very site some time ago. that there was a vote between Death of the Celts & The Parchment for The Future Past Tour 2023, and it went a 3-3 tie between Steve, Bruce & Janick vs Dave, Adrian & Nicko. And on draw obviously its Steve´s vote that counts.

For last night in Helsinki, as there were no songs from the debut, I am seriously considering to tailor a very own shirt which reads: "Tattoeed Millionaire Or Riot!!", and force my way to the front the next time so Bruce has to read it. Not severely disappointed but its my favourite BD solo record after all. And its much more fun to be a weirdo.

I think there should be some possibility to play one these songs: All The Young Dudes, Son Of A Gun or Born In '58.
Since if he would decided to play ATYD again (as it was only once performed on this tour) then all the albums would be featured on the setlist.

I think there are two possible things happening (not mutually exclusive):

1: Bruce is just bullshitting. Nothing stopping him from privately saying he doesn't want to play a song that a lot of fans have singled out as a favorite from the latest album and then saying publicly in an interview that he would like to play the song.

2: Another example of unfounded information being posted here as "insider information" being completely inaccurate.

...
But I wasn't sure whether it would fit on our next album - until a friend of mine heard it and immediately loved it. ...

Wow - she got friend zoned really fast! :devil2::bigsmile:

.... Ultimately, it's these little "glitches" that make the magic of the piece. Something like that cannot be repeated later. ...

I don't agree with this idea that the first attempt always has something magical about it. In my experience, on the contrary, first attempts can generally always be improved.

Back from tonight's concert. Very good performance from whole band. But one thing.
I don't like the idea of playing different songs on different nights. Never have, never will.
Much to mu dismay, Jerusalem wasn't played in Tallinn. So, for me, I'll take Maiden approach towards setlist everyday of the week.
But that's life, was still awesome concert with lots of singing, clapping and jumping. I guess that helped that there were lots of Finns tonight aswell

I see no reason to not believe him when it comes to which songs he likes and dislikes and which songs he would have liked to perform live.

Same. There can be recordings, especially live, that are perfect and difficult to reproduce, but I don't think that Sonata really had anything that was unique in the first take. Feels like he refused to sit down to actually write out a proper song after the first take and wanted to hold onto the first draft lol

DF: Your last solo album, "Tyranny Of Souls", was also strong - but weaker than the two outstanding predecessors. At least it doesn't have the same long-term effect.
BD: "I think that too. "The Mandrake Project" is the better album."
Fair enough, but I don't agree with both of them. Bruce's answer will be curious if he has to compare TMP and AOB.
If this was a Maiden single, it would be the strongest in 20 years!
"I think I know what you mean by that, but my solo stuff is not a Maiden song.
They're two different ball games. Solo I take the reins, whereas with Maiden, I have to deal with Eddie, Rod Smallwood and Steve Harris.
(laughs). And Steve does things the way we know how. 60, 70 percent of Maiden is always down to him.
Rain? Lol. Because of the unique style? This is not enough. The first part of Bruce's answer is true, but I think he has enough artistic freedom in Maiden now. As for what he said about Steve, I'm glad that's the case.
"Yes, "Senjutsu" is slightly ahead, for me too. The sound is better. "Writing On The Wall" was a good single in my opinion, and "Hell On Earth" works wonderfully, especially live. I would also like to include "The Parchment" in the live set, but unfortunately that won't happen. Yes, "Senjutsu" is a strong album album - but different from "The Mandrake Project"."
Hell On Earth works wonderfully in studio too. Aaahh, what's the reason why they don't want to play Parchment. Bruce would like to play it, but he voted (iirc) for Celts. Won't happen? What's stopping them for playing it live this year. There is something. SJ is indeed very very different from TMP.
That was over 20 years ago, and I didn't know what to do with it at first. And then it was also 10 minutes long.
The next-to-last song "Shadow of the Gods" would have been a good, perhaps more logical ending. But then there's "Sonata" as a surprise."
So Sonata was also 10 minutes long back then - that's a surprise. I agree with him that it's a very original song. And Shadow Of The Gods is indeed a great and logical closer. I think Bruce added Sonata because the album turned out to be with experimental approach.
What else would you like to do in life? What haven't you gotten around to yet?
"I want to tour America, Australia and Japan with my solo band - and there will also be another album from Roy and me. We still have too many ideas and demos that need to be elaborated. However I'd need a few years off for that!"
Another album from Roy and him - that sounds a bit like - one more album from Roy and me, for the future, not sure. I hope not.
It seems Bruce will take his time before releasing the next solo album (the question is how many years...), but for how long he will tour TMP. Or he will just tour without a new album. And the time could not matter if they only work on the songs just for a few months. I really hope the attention to detail will be much better this time. ''Too many ideas and demos'' sounds good. The next album will be a mix of new and older material again. And especially if he continues TMP approach.

I agree. Same setlist and same number of songs every night so every punter gets to see the same show. Only a tiny number of fans attend more than one gig per tour.

Roy Z has just posted on his private FB page 6 hours ago that he is "In the studio making new magic".

Does it mean he's recording his guitar and bass parts for the upcoming Bruce solo album ? Or that he's mixing Rob Halford's blues solo album ?

The mystery remains...
