He said there are vocals from 2014, from the 90's (Sonata) and from 2022 - when he recorded all the vocals before Maiden's tour. There was a photo. I think you can tell the difference from the lower register. Not so much from the high vocals. The vocals on the album are praised a lot.

I beg to differ.

2011 tour?
Nahh he sounded jaded on that

My favorite songs on this albums are "Many Doors To Hell", "Resurrection Men", "Fingers In The Wounds", "Eternity Has Failed", "Mistress Of Mercy", "Face In The Mirror" and "Shadow Of The Gods". :)
Awesome! Is Sonata too different or not interesting enough? Or a good song but just not one of your favorites? Also, was it a good idea to have 2 ballads on an album (again)? Especially as a closer, Journeyman for example works great, but I think this one will be different from it.
I didn't say they are fillers, but they're just better in the album as "The Writing On The Wall" and "Stratego" were better on 'Senjutsu' itself. ;)
I actually think Ragnarok works really well as a single, especially having no instrumental section at all. As a memorable song, I rate it highly as far as the other singles go. As an opener is close too. It's not full of ideas, but it's far from filler. You can say, but I guess it represents the album properly. Rain on the other hand, I think would work better in the context of the album, although it achieves its purpose as a single.

You will have all the answers by reading my review around the 18th of February. ;)

2011 tour?

...was one of Bruce's weakest altogether from the past 25 years. :p He did indeed have some rather outstanding nights on the first (Ed-Force 1) leg, but TFF 2011 was one of his less-consistent tours since 1993, I dare say. But yeah, those peak performances are pretty awesome!

I agree with most that the 2005-2009 period holds probably the most consistent & strongest Bruce performance. However, as a more subjective view on it, I actually agree with Bruce himself that ageing has given his voice that certain timbre & depth that lends itself very well to a certain, more... well, emotionally tender delivery, I guess.

I think his performances in 2018 were a brilliant mix of the older, "deeper voice" Bruce with the lower register while still nailing the high notes gloriously. So while his prime years are certainly behind, from a purely subjective view I really like some of his more recent outings on stage & studio a lot.

So in that sense, I think Bruce's voice has aged remarkably well and while you can definitely hear that he can't physically go for same heights as he could in... say, 2005, I think he has also found ways to use those "mature qualities" to his advantage. Of course many singers tend to do that and adjust with the changes in their voice, but overall, Bruce has also kept his signature strengths relatively intact!

I don't see the reason why you comment with the rest of the guys here because you have already heard the album. This "small hints" that you are giving to the fans who were not in position to listen the album is just not cool. Also passive aggressive smile is one of the emojis that is not really polite to give it to us in this kind of situation.

I just need to disappoint you with one fact, most of us don't really care about your OFFICIAL REVIEW , we just wanted to read something before the "official reviews" flood over the globe and it will happen much before 18th of February. The point of joining this kind of forum is to share something before it's "OFFICIAL" otherwise its just not cool at all.

First listening party will happen also before 18th of February so many exciting fans will write to their friends with happy face and give this fans more details about album that they have listened WITH BRUCE himself.
Cheers mate.

^TheMercenary has been a member for a long time, she didn't just "join to share something before it's "OFFICIAL""; she's a constant contributor to all kinds of discussions.

That said, I feel this "just wait, you'll be surprised ;)" tactic started a bit too early lol
Works better when it's a week early, not three weeks :P

It's always same question, are you here for the OLD MEMBERS or the NEW MEMBERS ?
I am also member since 2010 i think and also even before that i have been reading the forum and have one more USERNAME that it was lost so what?
I don't feel ok see people running away from this forum just because of the teasing like in highschool.

It's your opinion and I respect it.

BUT, as I'm a journalist and reviewer, I don't have the right to share a review or give a lot of details before the end of the next week. It's the record company's order. Not mine. If I was not bound by these obligations, I would have given more information or posted my column. But, as I'm a professional working for a media that is bound by some rules, I cannot do otherwise.

I just wanted to give some elements (even if not complete) that could help fans in here to understand a little more certain columns already authorized in the big magazines as Metal Hammer UK and DE, Classic Rock and Rock Hard.

If you've worked as I do for a webzine (a little one compared to the big medias), you'd have understood that I simply cannot reveal some truthes about this record (that are, for most of them, already in big magazines) without having legal problems. Labels ask me to post online my reviews on specific dates. Cannot do otherwise.

I think you can understand that, do you ? ;)

Age of an account is pretty irrelevant, don't you think? I'm a savior
Like, I've been only a member for a bit over two years, but have more comments than you by two orders of magnitude.

I also understand that there’s Rain on the Graves. :D

Just one beef here and I’m still not over it. Why couldn’t Bruce be a little more innovative when it came to writing the chorus?! Just why?!

As a professional you should not even tell us that you have the album, it's killing the point for any "pre-listening" party that Bruce himself is promoting but anyway, do as you think it's cool, like you said.
I have gave my opinion and I think most of people think that way when it comes to the piece of art they have been waiting for so long.

"I think most people" rings pretty hollow as an argument when the majority of people in the thread are pretty receptive to TheMercenary's comments and this worked in getting multiple people more excited. Like, I get that you're annoyed or frustrated, but you can just scroll by, if it annoys you so much? Or put her on ignore or something, I guess.

It's social media FORUM, it is meant to be for the "most of the people" (old and new members), otherwise you just have "private chat apk". We have great a REAL review that Mistheria shared which is awesome anyway !
