Re: WORST Iron Maiden album by Track Position (Track #5)

When Two Worlds Collide (other candidates: The Longest Day, Look For The Truth).

Re: WORST Iron Maiden album by Track Position (Track #5)

The Longest Day (very easy. one of Maiden's weakest moments)

FW and WTWC being voted out? ::) I can't understand what's bad about these songs. They always blow me away when I listen to 'em.

Re: WORST Iron Maiden album by Track Position (Track #5)

I love 'The Longest Day'.  The song drags on at the end, but the rest of it is sheer epic.  Like Aces High the music really puts you into those transports while waiting for certain death.

Yeah and me. It's one of Maidens most under rated songs. The bridge and instrumental section is sheer quality. The verses are awesome and the attention to detail is awesome. Listen to Nicko's drums during "The cliffs erupt with flames", I can just imagine being in a ship watching chunks of rock being blown off of a cliff.

I go Worlds here...
...and am baffled every time I read someone dumping on Longest Day.

Not all all, here, look at the votes.

Fates Warning, and quite some other strong tracks from NPFTD and FOTD are underrated, constantly.

Maybe the mere fact that it's even considered as a reasonable choice for this kind of poll is enough for some people to label it as "underrated".

I think "underrated" and "rated low" are different things. TLD is underrated constantly while Fates Warning, and quite some other strong tracks from NPftDand FotD are rated low constantly.

But hey... different folks, different strokes...

A small minority finds it one of the worst songs from this list. That doesn't make this song underrated constantly.

The Longest Day has been given enough recognition for its quality by many people, but a few other people (like me) see lesser aspects. I find that most other songs on this list have qualities bringing them to a higher level than your beloved track.

When the time comes (LC's thread), I'll explain (as often done before) why I find it one of the weaker songs.

I'm waiting for that time to explain why it's awesome ;)

I like Fates Warning, but not enough to put it above the other songs. So far, I think track 5 is the strongest track of them all.

Ah, that's this Wingman poll, which was challenging! Looks like I agreed with you, out there.

Re: WORST Iron Maiden album by Track Position (Track #5)

Fates Warning. Childhood's End would be number two, but it's way better.

WTWC is a good track.

Re: WORST Iron Maiden album by Track Position (Track #5 Finals)

"Fates Warning" and "When Two Worlds Collide" tied with 7 votes, thus slugging it out in the Track #5 finals.

My vote still goes to the song from NPftD.
