  2. Crimson Idol

    Crimson Idol Caveman

    It's track 6 o_O
  3. Von Bek

    Von Bek Prowler

    You're right of course. Doh!

My vote is still Aces High, though The Wicker Man is quite close.
  5. Crimson Idol

    Crimson Idol Caveman

Same but opposite ;D Wicker Man is my favourite but Aces is damn close.
  6. MFC

    MFC Trooper

    Caught Somewhere In Time
  7. Kill Devil Hill

    Kill Devil Hill 2deep4u

    Some great tunes!

In terms of opening tracks, I think Aces High is among the best opening tracks of all-time. So I voted for that one.

However, my favorite songs off the list are Moonchild, Sign of the Cross, Be Quick Or Be Dead, Different World, and Prowler (in that order).
  8. Dentura

    Dentura Invader

My favorite opener would be Moonchild. I love the "seven deadly sins" line, the keyboard line following it, and the build-up towards the main part of the song, it's addicting. Sign of the Cross is a very close second.

A 4 way tie Caught somewhere in time, Aces High, Sign of the Cross(that is the most out of place song in all Maiden albums because Sign of the Cross should've ended the album not started it)& Moonchild
  10. Saapanael

    Saapanael "Get a life, punk!"

Aces High might be a better opener but I felt an urge to vote for Caught Somewhere in Time.
  11. Forostar

  12. Bryan

Bryan "The Thin Line Between Love And Hate".......

    I like moonchild.....
  13. Indrajit

    Indrajit Prowler

A metal concert starting with a famous speech by one of the most influential political leaders of the world, Winston Churchill. Aces High is the clear winner for me. Just watch the '85 long beach arena concert.
  14. SixesAlltheway

SixesAlltheway (slow heavy metal music playing)

I really like Where Eagles Dare

My heart lies with The Wicker Man. A very close second, or a tie, would be Aces High.

Where Eagles Dare is a real belter, but Wicker Man really grabs and holds the attention. It's an amazing opener live, too - worked to perfection at Rock In Rio.
  17. Moon Child

    Moon Child Ancient Mariner

Aces High but Caught Somewhere in Time is very very close.
  18. Saapanael

    Saapanael "Get a life, punk!"

Interesting that no one has voted for Sign of the Cross.
  19. ... or half the other openers up there! :p

I actually people are getting it way right. The ones with no votes are vastly weaker openers (save for Futureal).
