BEST BAND EVER: Results!

Are we cutting Alex Lifeson in half?
Please!

Okay, post-listening:
I quite like all of the candidates for once.

White-Gluz has a pretty good growl, deeper than her predecessor, although I always thought Angela Gossow had a brilliantly vicious growl, pity she damaged her voice. She's decent on stage too, although not as lively as Arch Enemy vids would suggest.

I'm okay with Bennington. I still enjoy a bit of Linkin Park, and think his voice works very well in that context. I'm not sure how he'd fare in a conventional rock or metal band, however.

Levén has a decent rock/metal voice and is a strong contender..

But yes, Kennedy. Great powerful and sustained highs, but also oozes style on the low notes.

I voted for Stu Block. Does that not even things out?
A vote for a Canadian singer that maybe 1 in 10,000 Canadians have heard of versus advocating the physical division and subsequent death of 1/3rd of the greatest Canadian band of all time?

No.

Because they're Rush, they sound like Rush, and I can't attach any greatness to them. Canada surely has a lot of much better things going for it.
Well, based on the amount of records they sold, I'm guessing some people attach some greatness to them...

Alissa and Chester probably are good for what they do, what what they do isn’t really for me. Leven was very cool and might have won against other competition.
But if you want to check out someone’s voice, put them up there alone on a stage with just an acoustic guitar to keep them company.
Range and power sure, but also tone and emotion make Kennedy the easy winner.

I’m casting a pity vote for Chester because I love his voice and how much emotion he gives off in his singing. But Myles also oozes with emotion in a completely different way and Ariana completely won me over to him with the first song she posted. Definitely a worthy winner here.

That...was unexpected. On one hand, Powerwolf is awesome at cover songs. On the other hand, they turned "March of the Saint" into a doom metal songs and I don't think it works. On a third hand, any moderately famous band covering another moderately famous band is amazing. On a fourth hand, Atilla sings, "mart-ears," and that's just absurd.

Chester Bennington is an excellent singer for Linkin Park!

That said, I voted for Myles Kennedy solely on the strength of Living The Dream.
