That's what I didDammit boys, I would have voted Powerslave to save Moving Pictures.
The underrating explodes from my screen. But I congratulate you with your first encounter with wide appreciation for this legendary and mighty influential band.I think it's worse that there will be 4 albums up there in the non Maiden edition from the same band. 4 Judas Priest albums?! We got all the albums in the world to choose from and nominate and we end up with 4 albums by one artist in the top 10. Shameful..
Fixed. If that doesn't reek of narrow mindedness with regards to music i don't knowwhat does
At least one source thought otherwise: http://www.digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/best_albums-metal.html
Look, it's a metal forum, so of course metal will dominate. But any list of best albums ever that doesn't include a single Beatles album is kind of a joke. There wouldn't even be metal without the Beatles. The underrating explodes from my screen. Black Sabbath invented metal. Judas Priest is metal. And since Maiden is a metal band, big chance that such an other important metal band drags a handful of albums to the top on Maidenfans, a forum consisting of mostly metal heads who are into good singers and exciting guitar playing. Since you have been co-responsible for eliminating lots of other metal albums (especially from Europe) in earlier stages, don't be surprised that one of the last and strongest bands of the genre is left.
Fixed.
Just re-read that and realize it could be misconstrued as a knock on mckindog's game -- it isn't, I've thoroughly enjoyed this one. Is there a market for a "Best Albums Ever (non-Metal edition)" game after this one ends? Or, has there been something like that already? But any list of best albums ever that doesn't include a single Beatles album is kind of a joke.
Would Rush win that edition? Unless Rush is in the metal (side-)spheres as well. Perhaps it won't be easy to distinguish what is allowed and what not.Is there a market for a "Best Albums Ever (non-Metal edition)" game after this one ends? Or, has there been something like that already?
Agreed, we'd have to establish ground rules for what is and isn't "metal." We'd have to rule "in" or "out" certain bands like Rainbow, G'n'R and AC/DC. Even Rush itself presents an internal conundrum: I'd consider Caress of Steel a metal record (not that it would get nominated, let alone win), but not Signals or the later synth-based albums. Still, these don't seem like insurmountable obstacles.Would Rush win that edition? Unless Rush is in the metal (side-)spheres as well. No Pink Floyd, come on now.
I'd play. I'd host too if nobody else wanted to.Just re-read that and realize it could be misconstrued as a knock on mckindog's game -- it isn't, I've thoroughly enjoyed this one. The game might be called Best Album Ever, but we all know it's more about discovering the albums we most have in common.
It's little wonder Priest did so well given the fact they have the most in common with the band we all love.
