This game has such a different character than the normal survivors - everyone seems to vote so aggressively.
In other survivors people target a handful of their weakest tracks. This one it's like nothing but the best deserves to stick around.
I think it's because the competition is such people are determined to protect their favourites

It might be the diversity of the options. For me at least, a lot of the bands we do survivors for have a good number of albums where I like all but a couple songs. With this game, there are a lot of bands and albums involved that I don't really care for. Some that I really dislike. I imagine it's the same for most people playing. So for me, voting for the majority of the albums on here is easier than say, voting for a handful of songs from the classic Van Halen albums. Because of that, I often find myself voting for a large amount of albums I don't care for to protect a few that I love.

I personally vote for the albums I wouldn't list as a part of my favorites which also serves as a protection to those I would. I wish it wasn't impossible to protect DT albums.

It's indeed about protecting some favourites, and in the end it's the only way to make them survive.
But it's also payback time now. Headless Cross gone so soon? Seeing such underrating (pure ignorance!) hurts my eyes. Time to get rid of inferior bands but also Rush's latest opus should leave the field. Immediately.

So for me, voting for the majority of the albums on here is easier lazier than say, voting for a handful of songs from the classic Van Halen albums. Because of that, I often find myself voting for a large amount of albums I don't care for to protect a few that I love.
Corrected. :D

Eliminated last round: Watershed, State of Mind, Images and Words, Clockwork Angels, Superunknown, Blackwater Park, Balls to Picasso, Awoken Broken

Entering the game: The bottom half of Iron Maiden's catalog (based on on Foro's calculations from Maiden head-to-head)

NEW RULE: With the pretenders out of the way and Maiden in the game, there is now a maximum of six votes per person.

  1. Dark Side of the Moon — Pink Floyd
  2. Empire — Queensryche
  3. Highway to Hell — AC/DC
  4. In Rock — Deep Purple
  5. Dance of Death
  6. Virtual XI

Okay I was expecting Images & Words and Awoken Broken to leave but Blackwater Park ? Come on now.

Gonna vote later in the day.

Love the respect being given X Factor.
Given the votes against other Maiden albums, you can't chalk it up to fanboys.

Yet one of the best IE albums has more votes than Fear Of The Dark, an absolute train wreck of an album.

Besides that I agree though.

FoD is not a train wreck by any standards and only suspect by Maiden standards (I voted for both)

Dance of Death, the biggest wreck of all, doesn't have a single vote by you guys.
Look, I know that Mr. Adrian Smith plays on it, but it has a lot of weaker songs (lots by Maiden standards).
