Anyone thirsty for some Trooper?

I dont drink myself, but a load of pubs in Manchester are now stocking Trooper beer some on tap as well. Theres a huge banner above a pub on my bus route into Manchester might take a picture before its pulled down. Ive seen a fair amount of people drinking it who have no idea who Iron Maiden are so its clearly being drank not just by Maiden fans.

We had a tasting session with Iron Maiden's Trooper Beer this week. I put the tasting notes and some photos online.
Have a look, guys...

IT HAS ARRIVED!!!

Walked into my local liquor store today because they told me they had ONE bottle on hold for me. The entire city of Tucson has received 2 kegs, one of which is going to my local pub, and 3 cases, totaling 36 bottles: that's it. And I am now the proud owner of 4!!! Can't wait to drink it. I shall report back with tasting info!

Just returned from the local unveiling of Trooper at a pub here in Tucson. It was an incredible night. All Maiden tunes all night long, karaoke, of which I sang "Fear of the Dark", and, of course, numerous pints of Trooper!

I have now consumed Trooper in three different ways:
1) As Nicko suggests, warm. From the bottle. I liked it. It was decent, a very clean finish with minimal aftertaste. However, the repeat drinkability was pretty low.
2) Cold, from the bottle. Fantastic. Smooth, but still dry and bitter. Zero aftertaste, good flavor.
3) Cold, from the tap. Four times. It's really good.

I thoroughly enjoy this beer. I am a fan of bitter ales, and this one is quite solid. It's not the best beer I've ever had, and it's way too expensive, but I could drink this all night (if only someone would bankroll me).

Indeed. I'll buy another bottle & have it straight, without fridging it first; see if my opinion changes. It was nice enough though. Would definitely buy a pint if I saw it on tap or something. And, I can't remember if it was on offer or something, but I seem to recall the bottle I bought being quite cheap too.

Well, I can't claim to have personally proved this but people who claim to know have assured me that the ideal temperature for real ale is "room temperature or a couple of degrees below" - basically the temperature of a well-maintained cellar. Cool but not cold. When it's cold it has no flavour, apparently, but you don't want it actually warm. (I don't know if anyone will find that info actually helpful but I thought I'd throw it in anyway, just on the offchance :))

Morrisons are supposed to be building us a new supermarket here in Southampton, only the building it's supposed to be replacing is still standing. Any year now then ...

I've tried Trooper cold from the bottle, cool from a tap, and room temperature from a bottle.

Personally, cool-cold was vastly preferable. At room temperature, it's a little too fragrant and heavy for an ale (in my admittedly American opinion).
