Anyone thirsty for some Trooper?

Incredibly stupid indeed. Systembolaget is one of the biggest and most diverse importers in the world and need to have their rules revised ASAP. Great, now they have everything one could possibly want - Except for Trooper Ale.

Systembolaget, for those who wonder, is possibly the most quintessentially Swedish institution there is - a government monopoly that sells alcohol while at the same time being tasked with making people drink less.

They're not selling it in the states yet

I actually just came in here to bring this up. I haven't been following the beer news much, but is there any news or time frame for when we could get some in the US? Are they even going to be sold in the US, or will we have to purchase from overseas?

I checked the website and it looks like they're currently only selling in European countries (can't even have it shipped to the US yet, it seems)...

I thought it did say on the site that they were planning to sell here. There's a list of countries and I think the US was in the top 3. It either said this on the beer site or Maidens main site.

I'm willing to bet a couple of local real ale places here will be after it. The Trooper-finder map shows nothing anywhere so far, though

I'm not buying this. It's three to four times more expensive than other beers.

I understand, I also thought of the same thing. The conversion came out to $23 dollars in the US, which is really high (considering you can get most other packs of beers here for $5-10). However, I feel I can afford one pack at some point, but that will probably be it. I will preserve an unopened bottle, and then drink and enjoy the rest.

Does anyone know if it will be a 6-pack? Or 12-pack? Haven't heard this anywhere.

Also, a friend as I were just discussing this like two days ago: what are the chances that they serve this beer at the upcoming Iron Maiden concerts? Will we have a chance to get some then?
