Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

Going back to older times - does anyone know what the guitar Davey is holding in this photo is? Apologies if it's already been answered somewhere! I don't know if I ever saw it in any other photos or video than here

One of the 2 Lado Strats. The other one was blue sunburst. Both were sometimes used on Iron Maiden during World Slavery tour, along the white Squier.

I found this rare picture on Pinterest, Adrian holding a sunburst Strat, was it loaned? I don’t think Adrian played it live.
This one has 22 frets, which leads me to believe that it's a Jackson/Charvel. It looks like the later part of the 80's and I think this might be one of the numerous Strats Charvel/Jackson built him.

And yeah, that guitar has never seen the stage.

It is an ESP. This photo session is the only time it ever surfaced to my knowledge.View attachment 41760
Sunburst or black, it looks like a guitar Dave might use. The opposite can be said for the black LP in the photo, it could be Adrian's. The photo looks like it's from 1988. There's a photo of Adrian with Kai and Kiske with a black LP from the early 90's. In the 80's, they had guitars for photo sessions, not just their own I guess.

That black LP from Kiske sessions was a standard with P90's. Adrian also bought a gold one during TBOS, when he acquired the black Standard.

This photo appeared in Ross Halfin's "What are we doing this for" book, with a caption that it was taken in Dallas Texas in March of 1987.

is there any photo of the second prototype of Adrian’s 8431 Jackson? As far as I know it has a chipped pickguard but I don’t know if it is distinguishable from the main 8431 model because AFAIK Adrian broke the headstock of it in Munich in 2018 and it has a production one with its signature on it.

I think this is the 8431 because it lacks H’s signature, and AFAIK the 2nd prototype has it, I hope there’s a photo of both guitars together.

That's the 8431 prototype, also known as #1 prototype. It's matte white, instead of gloss white and the original neck lacked the signature headstock. The original neck was purposely broken in Freiburg by Adrian in 2018. It currently has a production neck.

#2 prototype is gloss white and has the chipped pickguard.

Both were used as #1 drop-D guitars in different parts of the tour last year. And they are both still on tour.
