So, is that actually the DM001 in this photo from Toronto? Is he running the second Custom Shop?
I find it pretty weird at the start of the 2025 tour he converted the Cali to HSH and brought back the black 70s for the classic stuff, and now he's back to a 100% Hot Rails rig. Pretty interesting shift!

Yup, that's the DM001. Colin's post suggests that it's the 3rd Hicks style Strat and possibly a production sample of a run.
Original Hicks still has the greenish strap. Also the Fender logo on the original Hicks is gold. The logo on DM001 is a lot less gold.

Man that would be sweet, I own the 57, the sunburst, and the 50th. So I would be 4/4 on Dave Murray signature models. Hopefully it is like the original one but we will see. Think it would get announced soon or you think this is still testing type phase?

Wonder if a company ever asks to use his designs. I was looking to buy one and I think its a almost 8 month wait and was a $2640 CAD deposit, i almost did it then something else came up i had to pay for. In the new poster pamphlet thing which lists there gear it says.
"Lado CND Earth Adrian Smith Custom Shop" and his other ones just say "Lado Earth 2000 Black/Gold, Lado Earth 2000 Dark Starburst (formerly Opal Fruits)"
Would be cool if Jackson or someone does a limited run, they are very nice looking guitars and clearly one of H's main guitars through his career.

I was looking through Colin’s photos, do we actually have any solid proof that there are three Hicks out there? The second Custom Shop and the DM001 look like the exact same guitar to me. The Floyd screw placement and the headstock wood grain match up perfectly...

It's a possibility that there are only 2. The curious bit is the wording... "It has arrived" We know the 2nd Hicks Strat has been there since at least Milan show. Usually the artist gets 2. I know that for example Mark Knopfler's main signature Strats are 0000 and 0001. There are 2 at least, but it's a strong possibility that they have 3 at this point.
Also, another way to differentiate the original from the CS production runs is the neckplate. The original has custom shop logo with Andy's signature, while DM0001 and other CS Strats have Dave's signature.

I think it's not a prototype, but more likely the first of it's kind. More like a production sample.
The prototype is the original Hicks.

A great look at what seems to be DM0001. A few observations...
- they switched the Schaller straplocks to black since the San Siro photo (if that is the same guitar).
- the guitar in the video has a VERY pronounced grain at the end of the headstock, which the guitar from the San Siro photo doesn't seem to have, but this could be the lighting.
I think there could be 3, but it's inconclusive at this point. If there are, my guess would be AH0150, DM0000 (production sample) and DM0001 (first production guitar).
Also the original Hicks is played on Phantom this leg.

Also, there is slight variation in colour amongst the AH150, the first guitar in the rack and what I assume is DM0001. AH150 and the 1st guitar are slightly yellowish, while the DM0001 doesn't have that hint of yellow in the finish. Shame the neckplate of the 1st guitar in the rack can't be seen.
Anyways, we have entered guitar identification hell now. If Colin starts to swap the straps around, we might be fucked. The turqoise strap is the biggest difference between the original AH150 and the other two.

I reckon it's a mix of UV light and sun aging. If it's nitro, it happens pretty fast, giving it that classic vintage cream look. Yeah, it's a real head-scratcher. Only the wood grain and the straps could tell them apart.

Maybe, but the 1st guitar in the rack should also be new this year (and less than a year old). Maybe the other two are production samples. One of the Hicks run and the othee of a USA or Mexico run. That would explain the difference in colour.
Also if the original Hicks and the 1st guitar in the rack are nitro and the 3rd is poly, that would explain the yellowish tone. Nitro always has a yellowish tone in it.
