5th July '14 Knebworth!

Not considered the idea of music... Don't normally get music at air shows. Sure it will be a spectacle either way.

Do you know what else is being played in the Classic Album area? Got a link with times? Sounds like a good place to chill with a beer.

I think their playing The Prodigy's Fat Of The Land album in it's entirety too which is also right up my street :)

If you're around during them times then look out for me, I'll be in my white Seventh Son shirt :) Less than 24 hours to go now and I'm getting fairly excitied, I'll be having an early night tonight though as I'm up for 6am tomorrow morning and driving down there at 7am.

Do you think they may film the gig tomorrow ? They are going to take a break after this tour and they tend to keep things ticking over, during such times, by releasing a live album or vid. With the Bruce airshow and all.......

It would be awesome if they did. However, it was heavily rumored last year when they played Download that they filmed all of it for a DVD and Kevin Shirley even posted a teaser on Twitter shortly afterwards that they had recorded all of it and were going to mix it. As of yet though, nothing has materialized sadly. It could be the case though that their doing something very similar to what they did on the Brave New World tour - record & release the very last gig of that tour, which incidentally was Rock In Rio.

Yeah, I was expecting Donington to be released. Maybe it will be. Wouldn't be surprised if something gets put out, before the next studio album. I was at Donington and I am going tomorrow, so fingers crossed.

New album in the first half of 2015, then a tour to follow that. Maiden may be having a short break after Knebworth but Steve is touring with British Lion, then they're writing. At least that's my understanding.

I think it would be a bit silly to have a dvd/live album release of this tour. After all, this tour is a re-visit of the late '80s period to mark the re-release of the Maiden England live video. So, you'd have the live recording of the show that celebrates the live recording of a show that followed an album released 26 years ago. It would be odd.

However, I would LOVE to see a Maiden Donington dvd boxed set... All the Donny shows from '88 to 2013. It would be a way of re-releasing Donington '92 but without too much fuss. Video footage of '88 exists... All wrapped up in time for Christmas...

Donington 92 vid was so disappointing. I was at that one too and was so excited when I picked up the VHS. Still love the soundtrack, but Steve made a right old mess of the visuals. After such a great job on Maiden England. Wish they would re-do that concert video, but that will never happen.....

I think LC means like a summer tour before they go in and record the album. Sort of like back in 03 when they went out and played Wildest Dreams on a few European Festivals and then then went back in, did the album and when the full album dropped they did the album tour.

Wouldn't it be great if they played a new song tomorrow? That's if they have any material worthy of playing at this point, which is highly doubtful.

But stranger things have happened.

:)

I get that. The first (and only other) time they Played Knebworth, 2010, they had the Final Frontier stage set (minus the big Eddie behind the drum kit, for Iron Maiden) and played El Dorado. That was before the album came out.
I just feel they have played so many gigs in recent years, without new material, that they will focus heavily on new stuff when they hit the road again. Who knows. They may do a few "warm up" gigs before.....

Indeed.
Or even returned Wrathchild back to the set.
They never change set lists once settled though, so I won't be holding my breath.
But..... you never know for sure.

Yes, it's the last gig of the tour, but here most of all, use spoiler tags.

Yes, that was the idea, they do some festival shows airing a new surprise for example. We know Smallwood likes to push them on the road quite often. The only issue really this time is that they are doing summer shows THIS year, at least in Europe, so maybe it will be a shed/amphitheater thing in the US?! But yes, yes is all
speculation.

Right you are. I really, really hope Maiden go in and make what they feel is their best album ever and then go out and tour it with at least 6 songs from the new album in the set. It's that kind of thing that keeps the band going and energized! Seventh Son tour rolling on its second? third year now must all be all kinds of tiring by now. Or not tiring but effortless and undemanding if you will, at least from a creative and artistic point of view.
